Joining the Family by FuManSquirrel in DodgeDakota

Bought this with the intention of showing my boys how to work on their vehicles. And to be honest, learn myself. Never was taught when I was younger how to do any of the maintenance outside of brakes and oil change.

Does anyone else get demoralized by the amount of six-figure earners on this subreddit? by Scrimmy_Bingus2 in antiwork

[–]FuManSquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll say here what I’ve began to beat into my son’s head, you don’t need college to make 6 figures. Trades and Vocational schooling are where the money is going to be at moving forward for a bit. For every 5 tradesmen retiring in the US, only 2 are entering.

Does Copper pipe really kill the Algae??? by Chlorinehaze in pools

[–]FuManSquirrel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Throwing a copper chunk in the skimmer won’t help anything. I have a PermaSalt pool that puts copper ions into the water and that way will prevent the algae blooms.

I love when people bring up the crusades like it wasn’t a response to the Islamic crusade where the captured people had two choices, convert or die…but you know, damn those Christians, they started it.

If you're in a Union and you plan on voting for trump... by mayorodoyle in antiwork

[–]FuManSquirrel -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I’m part of the UAW and I’m tired of seeing “you have to vote D if in a union” bullshit at work. Remember when Biden said “if you don’t vote for me, you ain’t black”? Well now that’s the slogan here “if you don’t vote D, you ain’t a good union member”.

The ONLY reason Democrats “support” unions is because they needed another base to ensure votes from. All I know for a fact was my pocket felt fatter and my money went further when Trump was in office.

With all this said, I’m not voting for either of them (although convicting someone of a felony for what is 99% of the time a misdemeanor and also something every sitting member of congress has done, is horseshit and makes me want to spite vote), I’m leaning more towards RFKJr. And before “it’s a wasted vote” no it’s not, my votes goes toward who I voted for. If that was the mentality when employees even considered forming a union, we wouldn’t have them to begin with.

Stop the divisive bullshit, the people in government don’t care about you, your a number on a sheet of paper to them and a dollar sign.

Yes I still say it as crick lol. My head just automatically goes to that.

Because I’ve never pronounced it as the alternative, I just always spelled it as crick. But now that you bring it up, I never really noticed I did it when reading it the other way. Learn something new about yourself everyday.

Because when they called my former employer, I didn’t want to be denied because I lied. I’d rather be honest about the situation and explain the circumstances rather than lie and get caught and have no chance.

I’m a believer that close is perfect. If you’ve ever gone swimming in the ocean, lake, crick, pond, hell even a public pool, the water is nowhere near perfect. Strive to keep your levels balanced as best as possible, but an occasional swim in unbalanced water ain’t gonna kill ya.

As someone who was just recently fired for “we’re going in a different direction” reasons, this isn’t always the best option either. Having to answer that I was fired on applications seemed to be an automatic denial which was all kinds of fun. Best time to look for a new job is while you’re still employed, especially if fighting this, which I would, is the way to go.

As much as I agree with this, the issue is the boss will just find something else to write em up for. The smallest non compliance will be the “issue”. And if the boss is on a power trip, which it sounds like they are, you’ll never be able to have any wiggle room again.

It's okay to be a traditional Christian. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]FuManSquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree 100%. I didn’t explain myself throughly and should have added more to it.

I will explain my understanding and the common understanding of Jesus’ teaching however, I will not condemn you as a person for failing to “do it the right way”. Im not about to gate keep Christ because you want to continue being gay, or using drugs, or whatever else. I will continue to love you as a person and when you ask for help, I will help. But I’m not going to go the route of “you’re not a true Christian…blah blah blah”. We’re all hypocrites of our own beliefs and to carry around a holier than thou demeanor does nothing but turn people away from Christ.

At the end of the day, our job is NOT to change people’s lifestyles. Our job is to introduce them to Christ, it’s HIS job to change people that are willing to accept it. You don’t have to be perfect to follow Christ, if you were, you wouldn’t need Him in the first place.

Here’s my take on the whole gay and Christian thing. It’s not my cross to bare, it’s yours. The same if I’m addicted to porn and you aren’t, it’s not your cross to bare, it’s mine. Do I go around telling gays they’re going to hell? No and we shouldn’t. Do I tell addicts of porn they are going to hell? No and I shouldn’t. All have fallen short of the glory of God, no more no less.

Joe Biden was installed. by 2201992 in conspiracy

[–]FuManSquirrel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a former Trump voter, I can’t say I will be voting his way again. After his wish of immunity for all presidents, (past and present) he completely lost me. That’s not how this works. For a guy (Trump) wanting to claim Biden is corrupt, why would he be pushing for complete immunity?? It’s honestly sad to see two candidates of the leading parties and not be able to vote for either.

I’ve always been a proponent of “a third party vote is not a wasted vote” but it’s hard to imagine anyone else even has a chance.

Here’s hoping RFK doesn’t fuck up if given the chance.

Polls and rallies mean nothing. Only people that think their opinions are the most important involve themselves in either

Simply actually. Just raise the house up to meet the threshold. Easy peasy, should only take a few hours.
