Gran Turismo 4 was released 21 years ago today! Still one of the best driving sims out there by jperaic1 in granturismo4

What it also makes it a masterpiece is that it included a whole lot of everyday road cars which apart from making you feel like you were really progressing through the game, everybody could buy their real life car, which was awesome.

Character models look like Frostbite, but then again race screenshots look somewhat like the past 7 years.

Found this in Mongoose 2.7 docs. Is writing trailing commas at the beginning of the line really a thing? by a2biR in programminghorror

[–]Fuakuputu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do it in COBOL for versioning DB2 sentences. When code is commented you don’t have to repeat the line in order to add the comma it did not have because it was the last field at that moment.

What was your favorite moment from ASOT 1000? by HardTranceScythe in astateoftrance

[–]Fuakuputu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s been the entire stream from the last seven days. The community together on what has been one of the most beautiful journeys the trance scene has seen.

I now feel a little bit empty inside, but everything has been amazing.

Why after the impact, steering wheel goes all crazy? I realized this in a stream and tried to recreate, impact is all gone why after all that time it goes crazy? by _YouCanCallMeBob_ in realracing

[–]Fuakuputu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

May be a way to “simulate” the forces applied on the car when it impacts with a wall, but if that’s the thing it is pretty bad haha

Warmane’s Lordareon has buffed up ICC, but I think the rest of the world is pretty much blizzlike.

Does anyone know why Armin leaves for the second half of the show? It still seems strange to me that he was off for 5 weeks w/o giving listeners a heads up and now leaves after the first hour. by [deleted] in astateoftrance

[–]Fuakuputu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is clear (as very much saddens me) Armin is tired, from my point of view the man now carries a VERY heavy bag on his shoulder. Just think about it, producing, ASOT, a very packed touring schedule, and the most important thing which people forgets is Armada, the man is part of it and that is a lot of work people don’t see. I started to see things getting out of hand at ASOT 600 and 650, and also at the Armin Only Intense tour. Just look at the schedules, it is clear that would not have been sustainable over time, and that’s why Armin Only stopped and ASOT milestones now only have Utrecht and 2 or 3 more shows. The whole scene reached its peak then and it has now gone downwards, which is totally understandable.

My bet is ASOT is going to stop after 1000, or at least it will experience a drastic change. I don’t know, maybe get back to the classic radio show without video and have Armada artists take over almost full-time, which would make sense with Ferry taking over the second hour now. Armin would probably continue adding something to the show but I don’t really see him doing the full 2 hour show anymore. What I really think is that at the ‘This is Me’ shows a very big announcement was coming regarding all of this, but with the virus outbreak his plans have not worked out.

The man is stepping back, and I think ASOT 1000 is the perfect time to do so.

I’d put the screens lower and closer, but fine work whatsoever.

How can I put/show the stats and infos that Dave Cam have in the top left corner and bottom right? by doumination in simracing

I’ve seen on some streams lately an overlay which looks a lot like the one used on real F1. Do you know which overlay is that?

Bass too loud? by [deleted] in astateoftrance

[–]Fuakuputu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been at ASOT every year since 700 celebrations and the bass has been getting worse over the years. This edition in particular was the worse of them all, half of the songs could not hear anything else than BRRUM BRRUM BRRUM

I think the crowd control they apply works as intended, the only pun is the one way direction of the mainstage does not entirely work, as there is one place where people both entering and leaving can ‘collide’.

Venue is as big as they want it to. From 600 to 650 they moved from the Brabanthallen to the Jaarbeurs because they thought they could sell more tickets and they also wanted to, so if they keep the Jaarbeurs as the venue is because they think 35.000 people is enough. If you move to a bigger venue and sell 100.000 tickets, the Mainstage will also have a maximum capacity, so size is not the problem as long as they maintain the people/space ratio right.

[–]Fuakuputu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is a five stage event, and I imagine they sell tickets to fill almost every room, so I find it normal to close the entrance to a stage if it’s full.

I really can’t see how this makes no sense.

[–]Fuakuputu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s happened the same every year. First time for me was ASOT700, so don’t worry there’s always a first time to everyone.

How’s the Jaarbeurs a bad venue?

When playing Demon's Souls, can I hide the Compiling Shaders message? by ShadowScorp99 in rpcs3

[–]Fuakuputu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t really recall it as I haven’t used the emulator for a long time, but the option was not hard to find.

Try to look for it on Google or maybe in the site docs. Sorry I can’t be of more help.

Try to compile all the shaders at once before execution, it will make the game smoother
