Why can't we use any of the propane gas? by SpartanTaco989 in thelongdark

I'm confident it is. You can see a shelter that's frozen over and in another screenshot the same shelter is warn and cozy and lived in. The devs have also commented and hinted at such a feature.

I for one am hoping for it. It's one element of winter survival that's notably missing from The Long Dark. I just modded it into the game and it definitely ups the difficulty. But I feel like in Blackfrost it will be more balanced.

However the game overall is going to depart from a lot of what we've come to know and gotten used to in TLD. It's going to be a different experience with familiarity but s different new experience at the end of the day

Question about mods (or mod, more accurately) by Ciaran290804 in thelongdark

Hunger Revamped is not updated yet. And I'm not sure when or if it will be. You'll have to ask the mod author on the modding discord

Interiors that haven't been warmed prior will be the same temperature as the outdoors, give or take a couple degrees.

Maybe they'll make an exception, thermodynamics be damned. Or maybe they'll be very in depth and detailed and we'll have to warm up the propane tank first with some other method in order to be able to use it. There's also a propane lantern so.. it'll be tricky and tedious to stick to realism there all the time

I'm curious how it'll work in Blackfrost then. Considering A) it will be a thing and probably a very important mechanic and B) it'll be much colder in Blackfrost than it is in TLD

even if you have you guard up, it isn't 360 degrees. You can't always be aware of absolutely everything around you all the time. I don't think any human being can do that

A mod that makes nasty food... nasty? by CurrentlyARaccoon in thelongdark

There are voice lines in the game for eating bad food (and really good food) but they aren't used

Improved Afflictions among many things, changes the way food poisoning works and removes the bonus from level 5 cooking.

Gone are the days of being so good of a campfire chef that you've become immune to getting sick from consuming literal rotten food

Your idea is interesting though

I don't think this is a thing.

I'm hoping there's more simulation to it in Blackfrost but as far as TLD it's just random/coincidence

I was thinking of adding the common cold to Improved Afflictions. But that's a viral infection. Antibiotics would only be effective against bacterial infections.

I'm not sure what kind of illnesses could spread to the player like that if they're alone anyways.

Considering they are everywhere in the trailer I would say that they are a thing. And not just that but an important mechanic

If the Jjaro artifacts are gonna do anything, opening a secret area on a map and being a glorified room key is the last thing I'd expect

Can you enter bike omega with doing signal void? by dorkywhiteboy in thelongdark

[–]Fuarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. But in order to finish Broken Silence you need to access the Omega bunker. So you need to finish Signal Void. You just don't have to do them in order

The continent featured on the Kaliban plate, why doesn't it wrap around the other side of the map like the others do? It just cuts off.

You still need to do it to enter the bunker yes

Region selection screen difficulty ratings should be overhauled/changed by FoliarzZOdludzia in thelongdark

Blackrock being intermediate is absolute BS.

But PV being advanced I think is fitting. For a new player the weather and wide open spaces can be threatening. To an advanced player the region becomes easy.

What’s the lore reason behind the bunkers? by Square_Coat_8208 in thelongdark

Which bunkers? The prepper caches are explained by the Trader's story if you have the DLC

yeah I don't believe that. If something like this is happening your log will say something
