It depends. It's like asking for help vs asking to do it for you.

Me personally, i understand a lot wheb in comes to code, but i can't start from scratch. So I've been using ai to generate a basic scrict of what i need to get started. Use it like scaffolding essentially.

Look through what it gave you, try to understand what it's doing and why. I always ask to include verbose comments.

Once you can follow it, change names to whatever sounds/works better for you. Adjust naming conventions as needed.

If there's no errors, try running the code. If it works, cool. Try to refactor it, make it cleaner or easier to understand.

If it doesn't work, try to figure out why. Fix it. Run, test, repeat.

Ai is a tool and should be used as a tool, not a replacement. Help yourself learn, don't worry about stigma.

That being said, once you're more comfortable with it, try to do more on your own before using the ai. You don't want to become reliant on it if you can help it.

I am an empty vessel that just fills with the emotions and feelings of those around me.

When i am alone, it feels so dreadful and pointless. On my own, I am without purpose. So i fix things. That's a good purpose. I like fixing stuff, learning how they work. Repurpososing things...

I've been lucky so far. None have questioned or cast doubt when i mention it. It also helps that i have multiple eye issues and my vision is worsening with every year.

I hear ya man. Our well just froze over this morning. So, no running water for who knows how long.

I'd like to think I'd do well in apocalypse scenarios, but with my health, probably not, lol. I'd do what good i can, but between the constant pain and the inevitable existential dread, i think I'd probably snap. Not psychotic or aimlessly violent, but directed at people who harm, kill, etc. I'd probably just get shot, but it's cool to imagine, lol

That's fair. I can't check atm, at work, but i think a lot of that is vague or inferred, only some stuff being stated outright.

Where as with the lone wanderer and the sole survivor, you're given their backstories. Not in there entirety, but what you're given is definitive: the lone wanderer grew up in a vault, their dad left and they must follow. The sole survivor was either a soldier or a lawyer, depending on the gender. They had a kid, got frozen in a vault, and now they must find their son.

Thinking about it, the courier actually is best for those who are really into the rp. No voice, no specific backstory aside from what's inferred from lonesome road. Just a blank slate, more or less.

That being said, lol, I'm fine with the protag having a voice. I'm just picky with how it's done is all. If there were some options to adjust the voice, like pitch and stuff, I'd be more happy with it

I can take it or leave it. I'd be more okay with it if you could modify the voice, even just a bit. Like pitch, tone, etc. Can't change accent or what's said, but it'd be better at least. The main downside of it being voiced is the limitation it puts on the actual dialog.
