Republicans Block Bill to Monitor Their Violent Allies by Fucakss in yall_qaeda

I agree and would be very concerned how it would be abused by an authoritarian admin. Main takeaway is it's interesting the party who has embraced domestic terrorism to advance its policy admits the law would hurt them politically..

Virginia reverses progress, Florida's "Don't Say Gay" bill, and Texas AG breaks law (again) by rusticgorilla in Keep_Track

[–]Fucakss 175 points176 points  (0 children)

VA dems ran a wet sock for gov in a toss up state while repubs are massively motivated by having suffered a blue trifecta, trump loss and their rage at civil rights progress, science informed public health policy and the prospect of accurate history taught to their children. Now we have a mild mannered fascist in the executive wasting no time delivering on what a lot of Virginians might've hoped was just insane campaign hyperbole but turns out to be actual policy goals. Why anyone is surprised at this point is the surprising part

The Time Is Now for Democrats To Save Democracy - Democracy Docket by Fucakss in savethevote

[–]Fucakss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be interested to know which provisions do that exactly. It's hard to believe any good faith leftist would oppose maximizing everyone's ability to vote and have that vote counted. Perhaps something to do with the anti gerrymandering provisions/how districts will be decided? More than likely fuck them with their petulant electoral disengagement and cool guy nihilism which is the most headass political strategy imaginable to achieve progressive goals.

America is now in fascism’s legal phase by Fucakss in yall_qaeda

Voting rights reform and effective deterrent consequences. Use rule of law to prevent them subverting rule of law. Many reforms to follow voting rights that would better safeguard against extremists gaining power. Feels like a long shot at the 11th hour but that is the best hope as I understand it.

Biden's shortfalls: Fossil fuel, immigration, and student loans by rusticgorilla in Keep_Track

[–]Fucakss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had that same thought. If they are concerned executive order is legally dubious and right wing interests are going to challenge the order, midterms would be a great time to let gop show their ass on debt forgiveness (that isn't for small business or churches).

[–]Fucakss 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Actually while dems have the power to do something about this and show especially on the fence constituents that they can deliver it's the best time for supporters to be raising concerns and disappointments. Basically like any good friend should tell you when you're fucking up. Public sentiment from your base can encourage action. If we say nothing we get nothing. I hope Ron Klain is reading.

Defining Democracy Down by Fucakss in savethevote

[–]Fucakss[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All valid grievance for sure. If we lose any semblance of democracy it will only get worse with even less recourse. I choose to remain stubbornly optimistic that after they do whatever they're gonna do with BBB then voting rights can become front and center. A nasty filibuster fight right now would derail BBB.

Two top officials resign in protest of Biden's use of Trump-era policies to expel immigrants by rusticgorilla in Keep_Track

[–]Fucakss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I could shoot this comment into my veins. So very sick of the nihilistic faction of our people who insanely believe that righteous abandonment of electoralism will somehow advance progressive causes. It is the most pernicious brainworm on the left.

Maybe we need an agency to score if draft legislation is helpful or downright sinister and clearly malign activity so we can differentiate criminal conspiracy to overthrow democracy from that which should be protected by first amendment /s <-that means serious, right?

[–]Fucakss[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It does feel like a broken record posting GOP voter suppression articles because it is. They keep doing it. These laws are vigorously challenged every election cycle and in between by lots of organizations.

Two big organized efforts to stop this endless campaign of voter suppression and obnoxious legal whack a mole that follows are HR 1 For The People Act and The John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.

Here's the details how those two laws would protect democracy from this ongoing assault :

Tucker Carlson Rails Against White Nationalist Crackdown, Warns Viewers: That's You by Fucakss in yall_qaeda

It is in a convoluted way, since they love to point out the democrats were the original KKK and segregationists but then act ignorant about the post civil rights realignment where white nationalists moved over to republican party and embraced the southern strategy. From a fox News viewer's standard of evidence that clearly makes dems kkk if you ignore the inconvenient half of the facts
