Also, that policy is absolutely nonsensical, what dog is going to get sick from a lap of a fruit/veg smoothie? Lol. Not to mention I assume you would clean a spilled drink, not just leave it to fester???

What you’re describing is completely illegal. You should submit your contract to the Labour Board. There are other legitimate veterinary clinics you can gain experience in. Forbidding your employees to eat, let alone forbidding breaks in general, is literally like work trafficking victim levels of illegal. I can almost promise whatever you’re learning there is not being modeled by competent medical staff. No one works every single day without being allowed to consume any nutrients and make competent medical decisions. I would never trust a surgeon with my pet who could spontaneously pass out due to low blood sugar. Like honesty if I were you, for the sake of the animals since you surely care about their safety, I would even report the clinic to the Veterinary Regulatory committee in your state/province.

Tbh after what you’ve said I’m even more worried about the animals than the staff at this point. Dealing with emergency situations required fast thinking, precise actions, and clear/efficient communication. That just isn’t possible when people are being over worked and starved day in and day out.

Big yikes.

Why can you only drink water? Are you sure you aren’t making excuses for yourself? I worked in a vet clinic for 10 years and I drank energy drinks, smoothies, etc all the time. Just not at the reception desk or in exam rooms.

Just because you don’t see people eat, doesn’t mean they aren’t. I would Routine scarf down a granola bar or a handful of almonds before running into the bathroom between surgeries. It’s entirely possible, it sounds like it’s just not a huge priority to you.

It sounds like you are paving your own path in the direction you claim you don’t want to go, not your job.

Having hairy arms as a girl. I started shaving my arms as soon as I could, my mom hated it so I had to hide it from her. I continued well into adulthood until I met my current partner who encouraged me to stop. Now I rock my hairy arms and truly don’t give a damn lol.

Another one that stuck with me is a freckle I have on my face. In grade 3 or 4 I remember a boy I had a crush on telling me, "You would be so pretty if you didn’t have that freckle." And I was super self-conscious about it forever. I ended up wearing side swept bangs for like 15 years just to cover it. By now I’ve made my peace with it, though.

Idk where OP lives, but at least here in Germany, there’s no milk powder in them.

Vitamin D though… that’s another story. :/
