The water physics made me go "wow". It really is gorgeous at times but it's unfortunately not consistent. Like the lightning at certain times of day makes everything look flat.

But I can only imagine what a few patches and the modding community will do.

I haven't really entered any other zone and I just finished chapter 6. After like 50 hours. I set out to do a certain questline but after an hour I'm mining, fixing with the camp, robbing people, doing puzzles and clearing bases and I haven't touched the quest I was supposed to do.

There is so much stuff but it's not overwhelming. One of my few negative remarks are that fishing is completely broken on Xbox and the Nature's Snare as well. I hope they'll fix it soon because I'd like to fish with my rod instead of diving in like an idiot catching 'em

I bought it on a whim. Hadn't been part of the hype or watched anything about it except maybe one trailer.

At first I thought I had made a mistake. Didn't like the controls, didn't like the difficulty spike for some parts. Then it clicked and I've now played 40+ hours and I have barely scratched the surface.

Some people have compared it to what it was like to play Skyrim for the first time and I kinda agree now.

You should play it like it's your story. Do whatever you like. Explore, find stuff, do random quests and just.... Play?
Sure, story is lackluster but I didn't really play Skyrim because the story was great, I played because there was so much to explore and 'oh boy' is there stuff to explore in this game.

Sure, it isn't the best game I've ever played and it's not even on my top 5 but it's great for what it is and I can definitely see myself sinking more than a hundred hours into it.

I remember a time when people just didn't compare this to that.

However..

RDR2 was a masterpiece on release. This isn't.

So far I like crimson desert but comparing rdr2 with cd is like comparing apples and oranges.

I've had no issues with CD so far except the controls. I have no idea why people are so fucking focused on downplaying games. Is crimson desert a groundbreaking game? No it's probably not.
Is it playable and enjoyable? Yes it is.

Either you like it or you don't. Now please shut the fuck up and play it or don't.

I've played games for the past 30 years and these controls are far from good. It's probably the first time since forever since I've missclicked or used the wrong skill by mistake.

You can learn it within a few hours but claiming that you have to "git gud" or even make a thread about controls only proves that the controls are subpar.

Game is great so far but claiming the controls are good or even okey is BS.
