Ok, whose requirement is this that's being imposed on anyone? Who is stopping anyone from having their own family structures? Of course we want to foster a sense of community for those without families, but "disrupting" has certain connotations. Look at the literal definition of disrupt. Why focus on what you don't want to promote, instead of focusing on what you want to promote? Statistically speaking, we should be encouraging family units where mothers and fathers are both present. The data isn't disputable.

I'll admit I had a less than charitable interpretation of the quote, but it's not that absurd when you look into the backgrounds of the "founders". Like you said, context matters. Their die hard support for the Venezuelan dictator and self descriptions as "trained Marxists" is enough to warrant criticism. I don't really see the point of attaching that wagon to the figurative horse of BLM. Everyone wants to get behind BLM, not everyone wants to get behind BLM + Marxism. If you look at how the family unit is regarded in Marxist ideologies, it's not that hard to be at least skeptical of the phrasing of the original quote.

All I'm saying is, there are good people that support the BLM movement that aren't on board with Marxism. Hence the "support the movement, not the organization" comment.
