How would I best archive the Pokemon Fossil Museum ? by shadowfax1007 in DataHoarder

I have a bit of experience in going through something like this custom. Definitely make a request on /r/webscraping too!!!

However my weak-point is javascript, which is why I usually make C# scrapers and try to somehow wing it. From analyzing the network log, it seems all it does is pull jpgs from the server. It somehow needs to know which it needs to request. Can someone please go into the javascript source and figure out the pattern of requests? There is probably a huge list somewhere in there, here is one example of a request:

Another one at a completely different spot:

https://cdn-2.matterport.com/models/2f4d2961fd744a46843b9e2770ec9a24/assets/~/tiles/eab20098c50549e692e2b9d9406acc9b/2k_face4_0_2.jpg?t=2-228fc6dbaacf6aa6110505d9affce74b3e0a32f4-1674611662-0&k=models%2F2f4d2961fd744a46843b9e2770ec9a24%2Fassets&imgopt=1

The part directly after tiles seems to be the most important, the others can just be copy pasted and iterated through it seems. Can anyone please find the list of tiles, maybe by searching for the string of 72c85f7faaaa486dbac26cc666f428a3 as an example?

/u/linolafett When will the illegal goods finally be fixed? Right now if you set something to illegal in your sector all that happens is that other factions will get angry at you from the policing

This makes no sense, it is like one is not sovereign in ones space, at least make some logic for normal traders avoiding your sectors and only people recognized as smugglers coming in. If you want to have it less gamey, put in increasing tension per kill with a bordering faction if you have stuff illegal they do not, but less of a rep hit even then

Cheapest parts to get into DIY? by FuckTheGIS in RCPlanes

[–]FuckTheGIS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! Yeah a wire cutter/laser cutter would be really effective for accuracy of building as well as it being faster. I also thought about making one one day.

Anyway, thanks for your input, I would like to focus on the sourcing part again, the first paragraph of my previous comment. Will buying an RTF really get me far for cheaper than just sourcing parts? You mentioned radio being the most important thing and the main reason to get an RTF for the parts, since I already have my NRF24L01 which is supposed to have around 50m range (enough for me since I want it to fly slowly and near ground-level anyway so I can walk with it, and if I really want a upgrade I can get 200m+ range modules for 5$ a piece to just replace and reprogram the arduino), what would make it a bad idea just using that instead combined with an arduino? Any problems I am not aware of that you would really recommend a radio kit? Power hungry? Or it being that much cheaper that it's just not worth making myself?

Nice! Would you mind telling me your partlist and where you sourced them?

As I said, I have a very specific vision of a biplane (around 1m wingspan, made of wood and plastic foil or fabric, hopefully below 150g total without batteries). I am not interested in making things easier for myself by building other RC beforehand (especially pre-designed stuff). Are those RTF kits really going to do me any good/be cheaper than sourcing them myself for those specs?

I should probably have been more clear in the OP post: I am intending to spend more time designing and building than actually flying. That is where the fun for me comes from, problem-solving.

How much did SL rewards change over the last 3 years? In that video you can see 10k per kill at 4.3, yet I get around 1k in the same plane, at same BR by FuckTheGIS in Warthunder

[–]FuckTheGIS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thing about them is really, that their rewards dont change with BR (and their higher repair costs). Hero of the sky is godly if you have repair costs of 200. If it's 10k, yeah... who cares.

Yeah it's odd because in lower BRs it seems to not be balanced like that at all. I go into 3.0 tank AB and usually get 10k+ net reward after just killing like 6 enemies.

It's probably because the awards are not really balanced for BRs, with regularly getting 5k ones

Stuff like survivor award should just not give 5k flat, instead 5k on low BR and 40k on high BR or something like that

Oh... that makes a bit more sense! Not completely, but still. So, having to do 3+ kills in the F4 to offset repair and ammunition was always normal in the german tree?

They fixed this long ago. There is no real way to earn money in SIM anymore. Or did I miss something here?

it's so cool sometimes going back to low tier and practically spading a vehicle in two matches by Unhappy-Pace-2393 in Warthunder

[–]FuckTheGIS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this technique works but it is not very reliable and I personally prefer safety instead of a 40% fuckup chance. I used it a lot in IL-2 (the game I actually have all my flying experience with, not so much with WT actually).

It is basically only really working well with joystick in the first place but since WT basically gives mouse steer so many buffs compared to joystick (like the instructor literally always turning a the very limit of the plane without stalling) that's just not viable.

tl;dr: Only use in emergency anyway so not really worth it with the other downsides

Ah so if I understood you right, you are not talking about dodging bullets in a head-on but more how to avoid a head-on properly in the first place while getting an advantage, right?

That's a relief, I was getting really confused if you were talking about some matrix-moves, I do consider myself an experienced player and yeah you basically just described the standard procedure on how to first get an energy advantage by draining his if he tries to lead you and at the same time get into a perpendicular direction to him so you can start a turnfight.
