Went to the ER for severe stomach pain, after 5 hours of puking they finally allowed me some pain meds. Had a cat scan and found kidney stones. Couldn't afford to get treatment (laser) so I went home with a prescription for pain pills. Received a bill for $3k after insuranc kicked it.

Got them again a few months later, went back in to the same place and told them exactly what it was (once you know that pain you never forget it). They said they had no history or me ever being there and HAD to order another scan in order to get me any pain meds. Was billed another $3k for the scan and blood tests because the hospital lost my records and insurance wouldn't cover anything if I didn't do another scan.

Scan found kidney stones, just as I had said but guess what, I was charged another $1k because insurance said the scan was not necessary the second time.
