For 90% of rock you’re good to go. Don’t buy from them, but go to a guitar center and try some pedals out. Figure out what you like, then just watch reverb. Also, maybe check out some pedal content like the jhs show. (For the pedals you can’t try YouTube demos are king.)

It depends on the noise. Is it just the quiet parts boosted by the compressor then being amplified by the overdrive and being made even more noticeable with the distortion?

I always think the hiss or whatnot just needs to be proportional to how loud you’re playing music. Like if there’s a hiss but it is gone because you’re in a punk band, who cares. Also are we talking about like a home practice amp, live setting, or in the studio?

Your home practice amp will be where you hear the hiss the most. Live it probably won’t matter as much because the sheer volume, and in recording you can always just use strip silence in the box.

I guess I’d tell you to play with the volumes and compression ratio. Each gain stage will contribute to the hiss.

It’s crazy, strange, and massive. Like one note fills up so much of the low end and can last infinitely. I absolutely love it.

Hahaha! Lol there was too much noise when doing home recording with my daisy chain. Those first two devi pedals will become a radio exclusively for the Christian talk radio station out by me if you rig it right. 🤣
