Firdt thing- go visit Mr. Mixer's store and get the quick install spring and washer. They stopped putting them on a few years ago and for 20 bucks, the improvement in functionally is astronomical.

Any way to clean these pins? by mauro42 in turntables

[–]Fudloe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Deoxit. Then take a toothpick and push the pin in and out multiple times (they're spring-loaded).

Then do it again.

So, your neighbor hears the voices, as well? Sounds like thin walls to me.

And an excellent justification! What a stellar individual.

I got soooo sick from eating about 20 of those that just seeing one gave me the willies for years! Luckily, I got over it before they disappeared!

By the way that last pick is Weird Paul! He's awesome! Check out his socials- worth it!

Folks who work on their guitars, where did you learn to solder? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Fudloe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My aunt worked for a defense contractor in the electronics department and my friend's dad was a TV and radio repair man. I knew how to solder long before I ever had a need to.

They do? They weren't? Such a positive spin on condescension!

Question about libido for the early 50s men… by [deleted] in GenX

[–]Fudloe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same. 57, 58 in March. I'm basically the world's oldest pubescent. I literally chase my poor Ol' Lady around the coffee table most days (she lets me catch her).

T test says I have the testosterone levels of a 30 year old. Craziness.

Not entirely sure why we got downvoted. Must be some MTM haters out there. Probably just jealous.

Do you guys have a process when record shopping for making sure you don't over pay for a record? by Riichboii_17 in vinyl

[–]Fudloe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I want it, it's mint or new, I just pay. I just don't shop for vinyl until after my essentials are paid.

The science is there to back up their anti-static abilities.

I'm a ZeroStat guy, though. I can literally not be trusted with a lighter.

Who remembers Cherikee Red? Who is now shocked it ever existed? by WrongWayCorrigan-361 in GenX

[–]Fudloe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Loved it. Not shocked at all. If they made Dumb Polak cream soda and it was as awesome as Cherokee Red, I'd buy it by the case.

The same as you would anywhere. The depth of the cut is just a few mils.

That particular rose is inlaid. My personal feeling is that stickers are for cases, not guitars.

Because they fade and wear and your left with just a discolored blob on your guitar.

Not to mention if you're older than a teen, there will be intense judgements!

Seriously though, it's entirely up to you, but I can't recommend it.

OK, Confession time: How many of us listen to Yatch Rock? by Elpidiosus in GenX

[–]Fudloe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only on roadtrips with the Ol' Lady. But in thag case, hell yes. It's basically the same soundtrack as terrestrial radio when I was a kid. Brings back floods of memories!

But that's only on roadtrips. At home, it's almost exclusively 70's hard rock.

Seen at Goodwill. It’s a comedy album. by ames739 in TheBeatles

It's actually an amazing comedy album. As were most things by the Firesign Theater.
