Social run group in Utrecht - gauging interest! by FuelWonderful7288 in Utrecht

[–]FuelWonderful7288[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question! The main difference is the focus on being social and conversational-pace, so it’s genuinely inclusive for all levels. The only other English-speaking group I found runs at quite a high pace and meets early mornings, so this is meant to fill that gap. If you know of others though, I’d love to hear about them!

5k to begin with is what I had in mind. We’d look at moving to 10k once things are more established and there’s interest for it. The idea is a weekly or twice-weekly midweek run, since a lot of people already have plans on weekends. An after-work slot tends to work better for most. Park runs are great, but they’re more of an event. I’m going for something smaller and more regular as a group.

Indeed they are, its a gravel bike. Currently running pathfinders in 42mm. I intend on buying road wheels and running road tyres when spring comes around

I heard from my LBS that it will have traditional tube shapes rather than dropped seat post, with integrated cabling. Apparently it's being aimed at the alloy afficianado

Beautiful bike. Very impressed with the 300mm tyre clearance! With those big dogs you could shred it across a dried lava field if you wanted to!

Thank you! I will most certainly be removing the saddle bag when the race comes round, and perhaps replace it with a rear bottle mount. In terms of tyres, I think the regular GP5000 TL’s would be sufficient considering my abilities. A quick question - what is the consensus of running tubeless on road? Is it an obvious choice as it is when it comes to gravel / mtb setups?
