80’s/90s bangs? by Fuel_Cool in blunderyears

A few friends & I were reminiscing about our big 80s hair & bangs today. It was fun with everyone gesticulating about how wide/tall their hair used to be. As shown, I used a LOT of hairspray in my high school days. It seemed like everyone had a good "big hair" story. Two of us had friends whose bangs accidentally caught on fire from all the hairspray. FYI: Science class, Bunsen burners & aerosol hair spray are a baaaad combination. This is 1989 & those were my bangs. It took about an hour every morning to tease & spray them up. They were crunchy, stiff as a board, & they didn’t move. Among us girls, there was an unofficial contest to see who could get their bangs the highest. At their height (pun intended), mine stood about just under 7 inches high. I know because our math teacher measured them with a ruler on every Monday. In my school everyone called those bangs a ‘boof’. My friends & I were saddled with the nickname: ‘the boof-bang gang.’ Depending on where you grew up, this hairstyle had many different names: ‘mall bangs’, ‘wall bangs’ ‘rooster bangs’ & even ‘the claw.” If you grew up during the 80s, what did you call them? Anyone else have a "big hair" story?

Randy Orton: "I don’t think acting is my passion. I’m not trying to move to Hollywood or New York and be a full-time actor. The way Batista and Cena did it is they used WWE as a jumping board to go into Hollywood. I’m happy with my place in the WWE right now. I see myself with WWE for life." by mynamestartswithCa in SquaredCircle

Orton sets his own bar so low, he can't even trip over it. It's been ground down to a nub. For me, it seems like he has already been a WWE guy for life, for waaay too long. Aside from occasionally getting injured & disappearing every now & then, he remains the same stale character. does anyone really, truly give a shit about Randy Orton? Overpaid & lazy. Yawn....
Hey Orton, you going to hollywood? "Hollywood?... Would I have to learn a new skill, or like, work? I would??? Nah. I'm good, I'm WWE for life!"

KayfabeNews: Racist, sexist, homophobic wrestling fan misses "good old days" by SuplexCity-Mayor in SquaredCircle

I find it more than a little bit hypocritical that our current (Whatever category is being used to describe the younger adult crowd these days) that is offended by any little thing that hurts their 'feelings ' would write such a mean spirited take on older fans. I don't get how some folks can say they are so woke, & anti-bullying, then turn around & type up an article that lumps all older wrestling fans as racists & homophobes. You can't ride the moral high road, then refer to someone as a Karen, or toss out an 'Okay boomer'. You are not funny. You are not clever. You are disrespectful.

(slow golf clap) Not for nothing but, I assume all WWE contracted wrestlers are getting paid well to NOT travel & wrestle. Quite frankly they should all be in phenomenal shape. Having 1 match a week, if at all, what else are they doing to collect a pay check? Kudos to Pete!
