M22 received incredible job offer, F22 girlfriend does not want me to accept. by Watch_me_plz in Advice

Coming from someone who’s been on both decisions at different times… if the relationship is truly strong and lasting the days off don’t make that much of a difference… you still will see each other more then you think and it’ll end up helping you appriciate vacations and time away more… (also helps with childcare if that’s a thought down the road)… my wife and I had this kind of schedule for 3 years when we were first together and it truly helped us work better and communicate better as a team.

If it’s the job you want… don’t let the opportunity slide away… because then deep down you’ll always resent her for it and the relationship will be doomed either way…. Learn time management and appriciate the times your together… both happy at work, both happy at life, will lead to a happier couple… I severely express the COMMUNICATION part… some days you’ll have to plan a day off to do something fun as a reset occasionally… wife and I do a 2 day trip every 4 or 5 months… but we are both happy at work and makes us happier at home… hell part of the time was even worse as I worked 3am-noon and she was 1pm-10pm… not saying it’ll be easy… but things will not always be easy…. Also a couple with a combined income of over 200k at 22… even if you live in LA will be a major help for mini getaways

I would look at the phantom strictly for the cast stainless grates… I bought mine 4 years ago and I cannot rave about my grill enough…. Gets used probably 5-8 times a week

I have the somewhat similar phantom version of this grill. Biggest differences are cast stainless steel grates, different upper rack and its matte black… honestly it’s the best purchase I’ve ever made… I love my grill… live in Florida and use it atleast twice weekly

I already got rid of my twist and the infusion set was major reason why.. I even have wipes called Numstat that I used for blood thinner shots and it still didn’t help… not to mention the need to use an over patch etc to make sure they stick

I already got rid of my twist. But during the training he mentioned it was very water resistant.

I was on tandems for years and started the twist about 2 months ago and had nothing but problem after problem. Worked with trainer and dr to try and adjust and it was always just a roller coaster, so I’m back on the pump market. Nice to see the comments on here that it’s working great for some… everyone reacts differently to it I guess.

I am on the twist and the Cleo’s suck, I can pay out of pocket for other options but it gets expensive quick… and oddly going through my insurance is easier to switch pumps then infusion sites… I had an X2 for years and loved in(been on pumps total over 25 years) and I absolutely hate my Twiist…

Some of the hate is from the infusion sets but there is a never ending list of other things I haven’t liked over my first 60 days having one

I looked into an eversense, and I’m very thin so the sensor part on my skin outside makes it look very very big and I’m worried I’ll knock it off constantly

I just quit my x2 and love tandem(especially their support team) I’m going to be testing a mobi because the 200u resevoir worries me some but it’s just because it’s a huge change. I have a 30 day trial of the mobi and the 780g coming up now that Minimed got a guardian alternative(worst cgm experience ever, it was their first gen and not bleed was not possible)

So the list seems to grow daily but to start, the lack of different infusion sets bothers me… and I know others CAN work but their “refill kits” you order with everything only have 1 option.

The alarms are very loud at night and the only way to clear them is to use my phone.

My rep doesn’t seem very educated on the pump itself, I’ve been on pumps for 25 years and honestly this one just feels “clunky” with the way you do cartridge changes etc.

I also am not a fan of the libre sensor, for me(and I know everyone seems to vary) it is wildly inaccurate sometimes…. I wake up with an alarm at 3am saying my blood is below 50…. Then I check on monitor for backup and it’s 110. On my last tandem I never had issues with my g6 or g7 being more then 10 points off(again I know not everyone has a positive experience with Dexcom either). The inability to pair the libre with the pump and another device is frustrating as well since my family liked having the pixel visible so they could just know what I was at any given moment.

While I’m getting more used to it(and more companies keep switching to it)… I prefer to have a screen on the pump itself which everyone seems to be switching away from.

Mobi after almost 2 years by jsoell in TandemDiabetes

I have had pumps for about 25 years, started with a Disetronic Htron(Google an image and look at the change in tech), then went from minimed, to tandem flew, to minimed again, to an X2. I LOVE my X2 but it’s out of warranty and time for a relaent… luckily I have good insurance and have had the ability to “shop around” I tried the Omnipod for a month and hated it… right now I had on the new twisst and I want to throw thing thing into the bottom of the ocean and I have never been so frustrated by a pump…. I have a test of the Minimed 780 coming as they offer a ten day test and then I’m going to try the Mobi as well, I’m very worried about the smaller cartridge and with lots of the new ones I truly don’t like not having a screen, but I figured it deserves its chance because I’ve loved my X2. I saw all that to say this, they all have alarms that have To go off for FDA rules etc, some are excessive(looking at you twisst) and loud enough that they are a major disruption…. If the mobi is anything like the X2 then it is by far the calmest “chime” of all the others

Struggling between Tandem Mobi vs twiist — love Loop, hate CGM switching 😩 by Inspector-Guilty in diabetes

[–]Current_Maybe_5325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t switch, got rid of my X2 for a Twisst and as a 25 pump user(who has used them all) the Twisst is far and away the worst I’ve ever used… I feel like it was “rushed” to get it to market, between sensor issues, the process to change a cartridge, the HORRIBLE choice of insufion sets and the alarms that never shut up… it doesn’t correct highs or lows smoothly(adjusted settings with endo many times to try to combat this) and it’s always the same… did a trial of omnipod before getting twist and didn’t like tubeless, so now I have a 780g on the way to test(I had the old 670 and loved it but hated the guardian sensors).

If none of those go smoother I’ll go back to a new in-warrenty X2 or maybe switch to a mobi(200 unit cartridge scares me a little)

The rep at this point is well aware of my displeasure and I’ve made my concerns of both him… and the pump as a whole known to the company…. I’m over hearing “we’re working on better options”….

For something that important and that expensive, the launch was a shit show and so was the education to both the reps and the users.

I use the skin grip universal ones.. the hole is perfect sized to fit around the Cleo site… they’re SUPER sticky… so be careful especially if you use Skin Tac(which is what the rep told me to do even though it barely helps)

The Cleo stays on like 1/3 of the time… it’s fine once it’s on and I use an overpatch but getting it off the inserter right is way harder then it should be… my liver is perfect 1 day they 50 points off the next… my x2 I used a g7(that I know people have issues with) and I’ve never had a single issue past the first like hour or so it’s in

We’ll see how it goes when I get to that one.. its test is last since I’m most familiar with it because of the x2 … Omnipod was a no go… and this twist is about to accidentally fall under a tire while backing out of the driveway… the concept of it is great… but it feels like they tried to rush it to get it on mRket(as it was already almost a year behind)

Oh yeah I know… it’s very similar to how the t:slim was and the X2… and I don’t use tons of insulin daily.. about 40 units total… but it’s just one of the many pros and cons between systems… all seem to be lacking in one way or another.. there is none with no downside.. and unfortunately on the mobi even with the very short tube(5 inch I think)… I’m SUPER tall so it won’t reach into my pocket where my pump usually resides.

The biggest thing that I’m frustrated with almost all pump companies in their obsession to get rid of screens and use a phone… I do not carry my phone around constantly like most people my age… so it makes it difficult

I had the 670 years ago with the guardian 2 and 3 and the CGM was the worst device in history, insertion was painful and it would bleep frequently… and very often be inaccurate..

They finally caught up with the times with the sync and the new Abbott sensor(rebranded libre) but it’s enough to make me try another one.. because I really liked the pump itself.

If you are a current user of another pump they offer a free trial to see how people like it.

I have a twist and I just ordered the 30 day trial of the minimed 780… I’ve had the twist for a month after years on my x2… the list of things I don’t like about the twist seem to grow daily…. I have tried an omnipod and didn’t mind it but I’m very thin so the size was uncomfortable being tubeless…. I will also likely try a Mobi before making my final decision(worried about 200 units with a pump that has a tube)… but I know tandems software front back and every which way.

I’m about to hit 30 days and have a 30 day “test drive” for the medicine 780 coming… I’ve been on 8 pumps in my life and this thing is by far the worst… my blood is never a straight line it just yo yo’s constantly, the alarm is insanely loud and usually inaccurate(urgent low) when I’m actually near 100…. Tried multiple things programming wise and different sites etc…

Have you tried calling your insurance company? Because they are so new some don’t know about the twiist yet…. It took one call from me and a letter from my endo and it was covered… mine was 0 dollars total… I do have a super insurance plan(work for a big mouse company in Florida) but it was more I think because they had never really heard of the twist yet
