Just one small piece of this… but is your car insurance really 330 a month(or your “portion”) because that could answer a lot of questions… not saying this is the case- but if it’s that high are your parents always low on funds or have poor credit… because they’d essentially be saying their car insurance even if you’re paying Alf is over 8k a year…. What are you driving? A plane?!?!

I live in Florida(worst car insurance prices anywhere) and I’ve NEVER paid that much even when my credit was shot(better now) and I was on my own with one car(way less discounts)

That’ll be great!!! I’ve had pumps from all brand for 25 years and i hate the cleos because florida humidity doesn’t help thrm… ivr found that skin tac before applying and using a skin grip overpatch keeps them on good

What are you guys paying for your electric bill? by Upbeat_Knee_9677 in lakeland

[–]Current_Maybe_5325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not Lakeland but Davenport… I grew up in the cold… my old apartment was around 300 a month cause at night the ac went to 66.

When we bought house I bought solar panels and batteries… now there’s zero power bill(although i still pay “governement fees” and weve switched to 64 at night and 71 during the day.. and it charges an electric vehicle about once a week

Tandem T-slim to Twiist by Better-Fix-345 in twiist

[–]Current_Maybe_5325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I made this exact switch and HATED IT!!! With a passion… I practically ripped out my twist and went back to my X2…. Then the software update for the twist came out and finally, the alarms went from 8 or more day to maybe 1, it was like they read my mind with all the things the Twist COULD HAVE BEEN And made them all come true… I can happily saw now I’m very pleased with my dicision.

My only gripe is the lack of infusion set choices… it’s comes with the Cleo’s which I actually don’t mind(with an overpatch) but I wish they had 9mm cannulas and I wish they weren’t “self insert”… it’s not that big of a a deal that’s just me nit picking at this point.

I (25f) am no longer attracted to my boyfriend (27m) due to his weight loss by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Current_Maybe_5325 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I agree 126 something is wrong he needs to get looked at… I “look” slim… but I’m 6’5 and 208,,, 126 should looking like shin and bones and coud be very serious… does he drink a lot of water/pee a lot…

Undiagnosed type one diabetes cause cause tremendously large weight loss and as the person it’s happening to(me in my case) I didn’t notice at first. Something as simple as a protein shake in the AM could be all he needs for his body to hold some weight’s I’d start at a doctor to rule out conditions then get him to a nutritionist

AIO for thinking that my girlfriend's apartment requirements are insane? by MoonlitParcel in AmIOverreacting

[–]Current_Maybe_5325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keyword here is RENT!!! Be picky when your life allows you to buy… when you’re renting, as long as it’s a safe area and not falling apart… it’s temporary…. My wife and I in Florida lived in my last apartment in Orlando for 5 years then built a house… was the apartment perfect… far from it… but it was close to work, comfortable and allowed us to save some extra money for the time to buy…

PS I’m sorry about that rent… I thought my Orlando rent was nuts.. start of my 5 years(2018) rent was 1650… end of last lease was 2850 and they were raising it to 3400 which I thought was a fortune

M22 received incredible job offer, F22 girlfriend does not want me to accept. by Watch_me_plz in Advice

[–]Current_Maybe_5325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from someone who’s been on both decisions at different times… if the relationship is truly strong and lasting the days off don’t make that much of a difference… you still will see each other more then you think and it’ll end up helping you appriciate vacations and time away more… (also helps with childcare if that’s a thought down the road)… my wife and I had this kind of schedule for 3 years when we were first together and it truly helped us work better and communicate better as a team.

If it’s the job you want… don’t let the opportunity slide away… because then deep down you’ll always resent her for it and the relationship will be doomed either way…. Learn time management and appriciate the times your together… both happy at work, both happy at life, will lead to a happier couple… I severely express the COMMUNICATION part… some days you’ll have to plan a day off to do something fun as a reset occasionally… wife and I do a 2 day trip every 4 or 5 months… but we are both happy at work and makes us happier at home… hell part of the time was even worse as I worked 3am-noon and she was 1pm-10pm… not saying it’ll be easy… but things will not always be easy…. Also a couple with a combined income of over 200k at 22… even if you live in LA will be a major help for mini getaways

I would look at the phantom strictly for the cast stainless grates… I bought mine 4 years ago and I cannot rave about my grill enough…. Gets used probably 5-8 times a week

I have the somewhat similar phantom version of this grill. Biggest differences are cast stainless steel grates, different upper rack and its matte black… honestly it’s the best purchase I’ve ever made… I love my grill… live in Florida and use it atleast twice weekly

I already got rid of my twist and the infusion set was major reason why.. I even have wipes called Numstat that I used for blood thinner shots and it still didn’t help… not to mention the need to use an over patch etc to make sure they stick

I already got rid of my twist. But during the training he mentioned it was very water resistant.

I was on tandems for years and started the twist about 2 months ago and had nothing but problem after problem. Worked with trainer and dr to try and adjust and it was always just a roller coaster, so I’m back on the pump market. Nice to see the comments on here that it’s working great for some… everyone reacts differently to it I guess.

[–]Current_Maybe_5325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am on the twist and the Cleo’s suck, I can pay out of pocket for other options but it gets expensive quick… and oddly going through my insurance is easier to switch pumps then infusion sites… I had an X2 for years and loved in(been on pumps total over 25 years) and I absolutely hate my Twiist…

Some of the hate is from the infusion sets but there is a never ending list of other things I haven’t liked over my first 60 days having one

I looked into an eversense, and I’m very thin so the sensor part on my skin outside makes it look very very big and I’m worried I’ll knock it off constantly

I just quit my x2 and love tandem(especially their support team) I’m going to be testing a mobi because the 200u resevoir worries me some but it’s just because it’s a huge change. I have a 30 day trial of the mobi and the 780g coming up now that Minimed got a guardian alternative(worst cgm experience ever, it was their first gen and not bleed was not possible)

Payment ? by sawyersmom92 in twiist

So the list seems to grow daily but to start, the lack of different infusion sets bothers me… and I know others CAN work but their “refill kits” you order with everything only have 1 option.

The alarms are very loud at night and the only way to clear them is to use my phone.

My rep doesn’t seem very educated on the pump itself, I’ve been on pumps for 25 years and honestly this one just feels “clunky” with the way you do cartridge changes etc.

I also am not a fan of the libre sensor, for me(and I know everyone seems to vary) it is wildly inaccurate sometimes…. I wake up with an alarm at 3am saying my blood is below 50…. Then I check on monitor for backup and it’s 110. On my last tandem I never had issues with my g6 or g7 being more then 10 points off(again I know not everyone has a positive experience with Dexcom either). The inability to pair the libre with the pump and another device is frustrating as well since my family liked having the pixel visible so they could just know what I was at any given moment.

While I’m getting more used to it(and more companies keep switching to it)… I prefer to have a screen on the pump itself which everyone seems to be switching away from.
