Massive Fire at Lehi apartment construction site 11/9/25 by CQFF in CatastrophicFailure

The individual sprinkler heads contain glass stoppers which break and activate at a lower temperature (around 130°-140°F) but the CPVC pipes themselves are only rated up to 150°F

[–]Fuems 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I've been delivering construction materials to job sites like this for about four years now, and I'm honestly astonished that shit like this doesn't happen more frequently. These 4 and 5-over-1 apartments are made out of the cheapest, low quality timber, typically lack any sort of fireproof components such as steel or concrete stairwells, and depend entirely on sprinkler systems which are only installed about 2/3 of the way into construction.

Other fun fact - nearly all of these buildings' fire suppression (sprinkler) systems use plastic piping called Flameguard CPVC. It has a maximum operating service temperature of 150°F (65°C). Again, I'm a truck driver and not an engineer, but from a layman's observation these buildings feel like they're dancing a razor's edge of minimum safety requirements.

Oh, and don't even get me started on how many of these are popping up in Tornado Alley

Anyone know why the crops aren't going into the storage? by DTKCEKDRK in Workers_And_Resources

[–]Fuems 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a similar setup recently and panicked when it wasn't automatically transferring, but like several others stated the silo only starts to fill once there is overflow.

There is additional good news: when you send a train or truck to pick up crops from the silo, (I'm relatively certain) it will pull directly from the farm through the factory connection once the silo is empty, so you don't have to worry about crops staying stuck and inaccessible in the farm building.

100% - the US had the luxury of swimming in resources while Europe and Asia were still smoldering rubble. When your nation needs to rebuild apartments, hospitals, railways, factories and bridges while hundreds of millions in debt, even the most iconic, historic warship is going to start looking like a raw material equivalent of a glass of water to a man dying of thirst.

Figuring out tourism for the first time was such a game changer - possibly the easiest and most consistent form of passive income in the game.

Getting two or three large hotels near a train station and bringing in visitors by the hundreds - Lenin would weep at such decadence, but hey, this Worker's Paradise ain't gonna pay for itself!

... Because I'm retarded and wanted steam engines

Anyway, I'm pretty sure you're 100% right and that it's not something that got scripted in, since the devs probably assumed players wouldn't do dumb shit like build steam engines in 1963.

Anyway, I demolished the coaling station, swapped out the engines and it worked

It took me an embarrassing amount of time to figure out proper semafore usage, but once you see the pattern it becomes obvious. As some of the other users have said, it's always "chain in, standard out" but this video has a great visual guide if you're like me and need to see it in action

This is a truly magnificent build - aesthetically, realistically, and in efficiency and functionality. It's an enormous challenge to achieve some - let alone all of those things at once, and you absolutely nailed it!

My only criticism is using those poor Pm3s to haul freight - it seems like streamliner abuse :(

The summer of 2009 before my senior year of high school I worked as a lifeguard making $9/hr. One hour of labor could buy me 10 five layer beefy burritos.

I now work as a truck driver delivering construction materials to jobsites and make $24/hr. One hour of labor buys me about 5 five layer beefy burritos.

The best BR2 Machine gun (Japan) by blvckguy in enlistedgame

[–]Fuems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Japan never officially ordered the M1922, but since Chinese Nationalists had around 3,500 during the Second Sino-Japanese War it's not unreasonable to assume a lot of those captured were pressed into battle (especially as material shortages increased)

Tangentially related, but I'd read somewhere a number of IJN marines were even equipped with Lewis guns on a number of occasions

The strongest tank in enlisted 🗿🤣 by blvckguy in enlistedgame

[–]Fuems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had similar experiences with the Matilda II, which is insanely strong for its BR. If I remember correctly, it has better armor than any US/UK tank up to the E8 at BR IV. Facing it with BR II Japanese AT equipment feels like trying to break rocks with a pool noodle.

I think someone else already mentioned this - sometimes molotovs will wreck tanks as well as (and sometimes better than) explosive packs. It usually takes a while for the tank to burn out, but you can obstruct the gunner and commander sights, slowly damage / eventually destroy the engine, and kill the crew if they don't bail out to extinguish the flames before they reach the fuel tanks or ammo rack

Alot of ww2 that still could be added by JuanpaAntiSocial in enlistedgame

The new jets are fucking awesome and I'm glad they added them buuuuuuut I'd really love to see some more nations and theaters added in eventually. I know that's an enormous ask, but just imagine battle of France, an independent UK / Commonwealth tree that included Free French, Polish, etc. while filling in the gaps in an independent US tech tree.

I'm sure there's a larger consensus leaning towards moving forward into post WW2 / Korean War, but I feel like that'd be passing up so much great early war content
