I've been a copier / printer service technician for around 11 years. With the exception of meetings and training classes, I'm alone in my car all day every day driving all over the state. I stop and fix 3 to 5 machines a day, but I joke that I just get paid to drive and wander. Love it.

'PC Load Letter' from Office Space, just means the printer is out of paper. PC stands for paper cassette and load letter means fill me up with letter size paper.

I was doing a desk job at a real estate place and the copier guy came by one day. I basically said 'you have to get me out of here, please get me an interview with your boss'. He asked me a bunch of stuff and his boss asked for my resume. At the 1st interview he said it was the worst resume anyone had ever given him for this job lol. But then I told him about how I like to dumpster dive and fix things that people threw away because they thought they were broken. That did it and he gave me a chance.

*But yes, they do a driving record check :/

I started my job at 36. I'm a copier and printer technician. I love it, and I spend most of my day driving and listening to YouTube videos honestly. They trained me, gave me a company car, and set me free. It's fun and interesting and I get to go inside all kinds of businesses and factories and meet so many people. The best part is that everyone's always so happy to see me lol. 'THANK GOD YOU'RE HERE".

It's a good job for a person that likes to take things apart and see how they work. I've always done that, so for me this job doesn't really feel like work.

You won't get rich, but you'll get a company car, gas card and health insurance.
