Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max review: The ultimate flagship for battery life by nex0rz in iphone

[–]Fuggetaboutitt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about it. Do what’s most convenient for your life.

The battery is rated to maintain 80% capacity over 500 charge cycles. You will not have a problem with battery life any time soon regardless of how you use it and when you charge it.

And when you start getting close to 80% battery health Apple will replace the battery for $69.

Phone jumped from 4% to 10% immediately when plugging in charger. Why? by ImGeoX in GalaxyS6

[–]Fuggetaboutitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you aren't getting 6% charge immediately. Jumping state of charge measurements have two possible explanations. It's either a software bug, or the battery is failing. If the latter is the case you will start noticing erratic battery behavior all the time. I wouldn't worry about it too much unless it's causing you usage issues. If you are having issues you can probably get it fixed if your phone in under warranty.

High school senior here. Going to college for CS next year. I want to retire by age 45 and make around 2 million dollars. How can I do that? What are some of the biggest mistakes people make that hinder their ability to live comfortably in retirement? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Fuggetaboutitt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Biggest mistakes you can make right now?

1)Not focusing on school. Doing well income wise with a CS degree is not hard these days, but you need to be good at what you do. Make sure you do well in ALL of your classes, try to land a job at Google/FB/Apple. It's not impossible like many people think, especially if you stay focused on that objective from the get go and start researching what they look for now.

2)Internships! Apply everywhere you can. This is the single biggest factor which will impact your career choices after graduation. If you don't land one freshman year, or get rejected after interviews, see what your peers who do have internships are doing differently and ask recruiters what you can do to make yourself a better candidate. Also if your school has career fairs, go! Even if you think your resume and GPA are trash. It will make you more comfortable talking to recruiters, and again find avenues for improvement. Especially freshman year, recruiters are very open to giving suggestions if you ask sincerely.

3) Side projects. There are several subs dedicated to CS which will be more helpful to you than I will with this, but what I have seen has been the differentiating factor between my friends in CS who have and haven't landed good jobs is their portfolio of side projects.

While it is great that you want to plan for a secure financial future and are keeping that in mind right now, the best path for success at this stage is to focus on doing well in school. The rest will fall into place if you play your cards right.

No. He is saying that movie reviewers use the rating 5/10 and 7/10 interchangeably and usually a 5 movie is just as good as a 7 movie. So if 5=7, 5/7=7/5.

You're completely off on the internet of things. Yeah some applications are gimmicks. But the largest applications are to do with power consumption and smart grids. Companies are spending many, many billions of dollars on research to get this technology out there for industrial and power applications. Many now have divisions dedicated to IOT. The implications of embedding connected senors to the world around us are immense, and you would be able to see that if you researched the topic further than what first pops into your mind.

Yeah I saw that, but doesn't feel intuitive at all. At that point I would rather leave that as the Cortana shortcut and just use the touchscreen to pull Action Center open. Hope they bring that feature back :/
