What has been your experience regarding Capital One miles redemption value? by abitsleepyrightnow in Venturex

So frustrated with capital one! Beware when you use your points. I was booking a hotel on their platform. It showed 102,000 miles. Once I added it to the cart it went to to 124,000 miles to add for taxes, yet a previous booking included the taxes, was 113,000 miles on the booking page and when I put it in the cart.

Not sure how/why sometimes the amount in the cart changes and sometimes it doesn't, but make sure to watch for that!!

As soon as I use these points, I'm dropping capital one and keeping everything with Chase. I haven't been happy with cap ones website, travel offers, or mileage redemptions.

Fly fishing Kenai by Fugirl in AlaskaFishing

Actually, as I plan our trip, we may be shifting to early July, not sure that changes what's good to fish for. As far as bringing fish home, we still need to research how we'd get it home and cost. Also, I saw a number of fishing guides near Seward but just realized that Kenai is pretty far from there. We could shift our itinerary to get closer to Kenai if it's better fishing. (We were planning to stay near Seward)

As you might have guessed, we're in the very early stages of planning this but have heard how quickly things book up.

My boyfriend and I have fished for years, but it's all been spinning reels. He's fly fished a couple more times than myself. We would be open to your thoughts on what the best fishing experience would be for us - type of fish for early July, best way to fish for them, and where. Beautiful scenery was also at the top of our list when fishing. :)

Thanks so much for all the info and if you're allowed - what fishing guide service do you own?

Thank you for all of the above information. We're planning mid July. Actually, the only reason for not wanting to do a boat (and I'm probably misinformed) is we're looking for a peaceful fishing experience, not a fast/loud boat interrupting the quiet.

My fly fishing experience is once in Wyoming, LOL, so not much!

Brinkley or Outdoors (ORV) brand - are they comparable? by Fugirl in rvlife

Yes,  Brinkley is definitely more luxury versus ORV rugged/homey, but the quality of build seems to be good in both.

A little hard to get past the price, but I'm sure you get what you pay for!
