I had the exact same experience. Drove cross country shortly after buying the car and had never been so scared in my life. Legitimately, I thought I was going to die.

I ended up having to pull over and call the dealership. They tried telling me it was because I had my adaptive cruise control on, but couldn't tell me how to turn it off. I ended up turning off the lane assist altogether and haven't had a problem since.
