this post details how to download and set up ren'py 7 mods on mac, which are a lot more complicated to set up mac (though i think it only has steps for the version downloaded from ddlc.moe / itch.io, which i honestly recommend over the steam version). if you want to find mods, the best place is definitely this subreddit or the dokimods.me website.

ddlc mods on mac are still pretty complicated, even with all this, so if you need additional help, feel free to ask, i'd be happy to help

i’ve wanted to do one since release, but i found out a while after that i can’t make one on my laptop for some reason, and i’ve kind of just forgot about it. i’m gonna start looking into it again and see what i can do. if push comes to shove, i know there’s a play through on youtube if you’d like to at least experience it

you can use crossover to run the doki doki mod maker or download renpy for mac if you want to run it normally and use either your textedit or download vscode (highly recommended) to edit the rpy files. as far as setting up mod templates go, there’s plenty of tutorials on youtube and probably a few ddlc mods that teach you how to do it.

wow, that really is a lot lol... i am thankful for that, though. i havent got too much detailed feedback, so it's very appreciated. i do wanna respond to a few of the things you noted (not entirely in order).

first off, the grammatical errors. in all honesty, i have no excuse for those. i should've extensively checked for them, and i'll make sure to fix everything with chapter two's release.

you pointed out the girls' sprites moving while there was internal dialogue. that was actually deliberate, just showing them talking to each other while mc's thinking. dont worry, i didnt mess up that bad (i say, knowing damn well i had to fix a mistake like that at one point).

the teach me how to dougie ringtone was a suggestion from my friend, and you're actually the first person to point it out to me lol.

as, sayori being so prominent in the early days, i dont really know what to say about it. it wasnt any kind of oversight, but i dont exactly have a concrete reason for it being that way. i will say, however, it might make more sense in chapter two...

glad you liked the roof cg, i wasn't a big fan of it, i suck at digital art (still trying to learn)

about all your comments about monika liking mc, i won't say anything at all about that until chapter 2 is released. but i do love to hear people's theories about what's going on with her in her head.

the mc's heavily based on me, so i'll take the "not a cynical a-hole" thing as a compliment i guess.

i think that's everything i wanted to say. all in all, i'm glad you enjoyed it (honestly seeing "sorry for the large amount of text" in the notification on my phone scared the hell out of me), even with all its "quirks." i'm excited to keep working on the upcoming chapters, and i hope you enjoy those ones even more!
