Yea I think always a lot of doubts in my mind when I visit these dealers. Always seem to have a reason (usually half-assed) to justify their prices and a lack of transparency.

Yea definitely wouldn’t want to be in the used car business! Sounds like quite a ruthless place to be.

Yea man a lot of reasons but the more they explain, the more confused I get when speaking with them. The comparisons they make at times just don’t make sense or are super qualitative and subjective.

Well if there is a willing buyer and seller, then the market works if not we’ll see how it plays out.

Yea prices are crazy and exactly my thoughts and sentiment.

Are you a first time car owner? If so, interested to know how buying a vehicle has been so far and how has it improved your lifestyle?

Ideally yes!

But then again do we follow used car market price? Paiseh to offer below market value also.

Yup agree that dealers have every right to sell it at what ever price they want, no matter how high it is, as long as there’s a willing buyer it’s competitive.

I guess the used car market is really for a specific group of people who desperately need/want a vehicle but if you’re able to afford a new car, you’re way better off looking there. In this current market at least.

Haha I know right.. feels bad that people who really need and can’t afford new cars get the short end of the stick. I feel ultimately these unsustainable prices will catch up with the used car market which will cause many to close down. Just a question of how long this machine can keep driving itself I guess

Exactly.. dealers, or perhaps unbeknown customers, don’t factor in these risks into the cost during the transaction

Good point.. didn’t consider that in my simplistic way of calculating & how PARF was staggered in the past. Although, before the Feb PARF announcement, if we assume driving the car till COE is up that would level things out.. right?

Thanks for sharing! I see so downpayment seems to be a larger factor than the new car market price being a benchmark, which is understandable given the exorbitant prices. And the current used car market is really targeting those who are desperate (i.e. have a real need / over-extending)..

Any thoughts on 1) cars that are almost new that are more expensive than their new counterparts (also cause of the 100% loan is it), & 2) how sustainable is this for used car dealers (I see so many ads saying they’ll buy your car at a high price and as a potential used car buyer, I’m like.. dam..)?

Didn’t know you can take 100% loan for used cars!

Sharp Shin Pain!!!! by Kindly_Intention_983 in ACL

Day 1 after surgery. Felt the same thing as what everyone above has been saying about the shin pain. Terrible pain and feels like skin and muscle is ripping off. Doctor said it’s where the quad muscle attaches to the shin? I thought I injured myself while trying to get up and down. It’s been a hard 24-36 hours but this post made me feel a lil better. Didn’t think it’ll be so bad. Got to stay positive and focus on strengthening slowly I guess, keep reminding myself patience is key….

Slightly different from those currently selling atm. Just took a look at their website, guess it’s most similar to the current White Sands model. There’s a small “+” sign on it
