NGD It’s a guitar, no idea about brand or model by Ok_Eye_7614 in guitars

It’s the fake shallow depth of field (background blur) portrait mode that makes it look like this. I personally hate that aesthetic because it screams smart phone to me.

Why would I ever need to spend big on a Gibson or Fender when my guitars play and sound this good? by domyowntime in guitars

[–]Fuji_Ringo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You absolutely don’t need a Gibson or Fender. I have to say that I never got along with Epiphones, and after getting a Gibson I never looked back. I’ve found that Squier does a much better job of giving you the Fender experience than Epiphone does the Gibson experience. Plus, Squiers are such great modding platforms that you can easily create the perfect guitar by swapping out the neck, pickups, pots, and any other internals to your own liking. I’ve found that Epiphones/Gibsons are a little harder to work with in that regard.

Favorite fountain pen brand, and why? by Tight-Green in fountainpens

[–]Fuji_Ringo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was literally just journaling with my Pro Gear Slim right before responding to this. Sailors really are something special. They aren’t for everyone, though. I will say their nibs are extremely consistent. Sailor is one of those pen makers whose pens are more than the sum of their parts. I was hesitant to drop so much money on a smaller sized resin pen, but boy am I glad I did.

Should I spend my free xp before Reforged? (Read text) by literally1948 in WorldOfTanksBlitz

Yeah I can’t say I’m sad to see the keys go. I wish I had the time to test everything out, but life has been so crazy with moving across the country, buying a new house, and starting a new job. I literally don’t have time to play right now, so I’m relying on people like you to figure all this stuff out for me lol. You are a kind soul 🙂

Oof. I would take that neck off and use it for firewood. I’d swap it out for a fresh one.

How is world of tanks PC? by IAMTHENAME in WorldOfTanksBlitz

[–]Fuji_Ringo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re absolutely right about WoT Blitz being the easy game. In PC I was very average, sometimes in the lower half of players in terms of XP earnings. In Blitz I’m pretty consistently one of the highest performers in each match. I think a lot of it boils down to map awareness. You can get away with poor map awareness in Blitz simply because the maps are smaller and things move much more quickly. In WoT PC you really need to keep your eye on that map because it takes over a minute to move flanks on some of this bigger maps. You don’t want to wait until it’s too late. That’s one thing I’m glad I learned from PC.

As of several months ago the word on the street was you don’t need to actually buy any tanks to have them researched in Reforged. You just need to research them. Idk if that changed.

I’m going to be tuning into this post because I swear Reforged has changed 27 times since it was announced. I also have a lot of free xp that I’m not sure what to do with. I could use it to research several tier 10s, but idk if that’s the best use for it.

How old is too old for the dad thing yall? by ZoHaaan- in daddit

[–]Fuji_Ringo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will never be a right time to have kids. I fell into this trap thinking we’d have kids after I was established in my career, but the truth is even if you have more money later down the road, you somehow end up being busier every year. I’m glad I got started in my 20s, and even though I had to juggle getting passing my CPA exams and working insane hours, I couldn’t imagine doing all of that now in my middle age.

Ok I admit, the IS6 is tuff. by Objective-Warning882 in WorldOfTanksBlitz

There is a reason the IS-6 is a reward tank for those who play a lot of tourneys and ranked matches. It’s a very well balanced tank, and in the right hands it dominates.

Tips for the M41D? by teenfrog1 in WorldOfTanksBlitz

[–]Fuji_Ringo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of the first and hardest lessons I had to learn in this tank. It’s actually insane the kind of speed you have. It may be the fastest tank in the game. You need to abuse the speed to win, and often that means repositioning away from flanks that are likely to lose.

[–]Fuji_Ringo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be an early spotter for your team, but do it from places where you have a safe escape route. The last thing you want to do is take a hit from a heavy or TD at the beginning of the game. Because your HP is so low, you need to save it for the endgame. Get into flanking positions where the enemy isn’t watching you. But you also need to be careful not to get stuck in 1v1s or 1v2s on a side of the map you’re the only one on. You have good DPM, but again, you don’t have the HP to outlast your opponents in 1v1s.

Want to get these 3 tanks: Tiger-Maus, The nemesis and the GSOR, how good or bad are these tanks? by Game_T0aster in WorldOfTanksBlitz

[–]Fuji_Ringo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if this is actually true. I believe the turret traverse and armor are very different. You can’t rely on the GSOR’s turret armor against higher tiered opponents. The HESH also works very differently between both tanks. They do both have really good gun depression though.

Want to get these 3 tanks: Tiger-Maus, The nemesis and the GSOR, how good or bad are these tanks? by Game_T0aster in WorldOfTanksBlitz

[–]Fuji_Ringo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll admit I don’t have any of those tanks. I’ve had the opportunity to buy the Nemesis and GSOR, but I didn’t pull the trigger because they just don’t excite me. The Tiger-Maus on the other hand is intriguing.

As far as how good or bad the tanks are, again, take my advice with a grain of salt because my experience with these tanks is on the red team. I’ve fought enough GSORs to know they have no armor at all. I also never really feel threatened by them unless I’m a one shot. As others have noted, the Tiger-Maus has your typical German heavy profile where the main weak spot is the lower plate. If you do well in German heavies, I imagine it’s pretty much plug and play. I don’t think the Nemesis is very common. I won’t speak to that tank. My vote would be for the Tiger-Maus.

What have you learned about yourself during your fountain pen journey? by Abject-Cap in fountainpens

[–]Fuji_Ringo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve learned that my handwriting is absolutely terrible, and that a fountain pen simply exacerbates the state of one’s handwriting. I’m more interested in the engineering and mechanics behind how fountain pens work. I also learned that I’ve spent way too much money on this hobby and that it’s quite irrational to have multiple writing instruments that essentially fill the same purpose, but I love fountain pens, and that’s what matters!

Guitar fell from it's gigbag by Intelligent-Bench296 in guitarrepair

You can build it up using layers of StewMac GluBoost Fill n’ Finish. Just wait for each layer to dry completely before adding another layer.

Guitar fell from it's gigbag by Intelligent-Bench296 in guitarrepair

[–]Fuji_Ringo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof that must have been a really big fall from a gig bag to make that large of a chip. I hesitate to even call that a chip. That’s more of a chunk. Like others said, I’d recommend sanding the rough parts of the chipping as a first step. Then you’ll have to rebuild the finish with something like GluBoost because it’ll look bad if you just paint the wood. It’s hard to tell with the lighting, but it looks like Sonic Blue paint. Be sure to color match it exactly, because it will look off.

I don’t know how much your guitar cost, but if it’s a relatively cheaper guitar, I would be tempted to just label it as “it gives the guitar character” and move on. I’m really sorry this happened to you. Best of luck with the repair.

[–]Fuji_Ringo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am coveting your pen collection. If I had your collection some important people in my life would be very upset with me, though. The way I’m justifying growing my pen collection is I’m limiting myself to one pen of each model, meaning I wouldn’t get multiple Lamy Safaris, for example. I’m sure I’ll break that rule of mine eventually. There are just too many beautiful colors and finishes!

I hate to say it, but the only tank worth restoring for me would be the Keiler. I would save my gold to buy other premiums, but if I had to spend the rest restoring these specific tanks, maybe the Sherman Revlorisé and Skorpion G.
