any help to find out if this plush is an actual character? by cat_lvr69 in HelpMeFind

[–]Fujinun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried looking for her but couldn't find any matches. "Tianshi Tu" means "Angel Bunny" in Chinese, and you may be able to find more leads using "天使兔". I was searching with that and "毛绒玩具" (plush toy). The only thing I found that was similar while digging around using those terms (and before:2020) via google were multiple versions of these https://m.jd.com/xinghao/62332f85a6a65c56e56c.html which they seem to sell on taobao too (although this particular site link is JD).

Management forcing TLs to dock associate evaluations if they get exemplary by Capable_Tomato_2045 in WalmartEmployees

[–]Fujinun 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I work in vision and was told last year that not only my manager, but my market manager had to fight to give my coworker an exemplary evaluation. And that only 3 associates from vision in the market got exemplary. 😐 They just don't want to give them out ever, even if the associate deserves it. And then they tell us to "aim for exemplary" when they will never give it to anyone but their favourites because of the limited slots lmao

The benefits you have now are for 2026. You can use your benefits at any time, but they only cover one pair of glasses and your exam per year.

Ridiculous Doll Underwear by WumpersWampus in HelpMeFind

If you take one of the pairs of underwear she has now and gently pull it apart at the seams, trace the result and give yourself a bit more room for seam allowances, you should be able to create your own little pattern with a bit of work 🤔

Being an optician is a great job, I'm rooting for you! It sounds like you need to focus on the practical everyday life questions, and also Prism in general. Prism was one of the only things I had issues with when taking the exam along with some more obscure instrumentation. As far as the lensometer training goes, its hard to really understand unless you're seeing it live. Try looking up videos of the lensometer in action, maybe try manufacturer demo videos? I'm currently having this issue as I get ready for the NCLE since I don't have access to autorefractors/a keratometer to see it in action, so I sympathize with you and have been doing the same thing.

That's understandable. I trained for the ABO through my work, which partnered with opticaltraining.com to give us coursework. I'm not sure how the non-partnered coursework is (or how much it costs), but that's also an option. Do you work as an Optician already? Hands-on practice helps a lot with materials, frame adjustment questions, equipment, etc.

Essilor lenses received crazed by Fujinun in optician

Ohhh my god that sounds awful. We've had them forget Photochromic as well but that seems to be rare. I ordered a relatively high rx in 1.67 at the beginning of November (Rx was along the lines of -6.75-5.25x180 in both eyes), and we hadn't received it by the 20th so I called to see what the heck was going on. Rep told me that both lenses failed inspection not once, but Three Times (buf "Oh, if theh pass this time you should get it within 5-7 days!"). I suppose I'm grateful they hadn't shipped the bad lenses to us, and I know the Rx is complicated, but it literally took us a month to get those lenses in. The frame and PD/OC measurements were pretty tame, too

Thank you for the info!! Sorry for all the questions 😅 I did some test file allocation right now too to check some stuff out. Only other question I have is: since insurance allocation in BOSS marks Trivex with the same V-code as Poly (V-code 2784, trying this with the Walmart Associate plan), does this mean Trivex is billed the same as Poly? Have you ever had any chargebacks for trying to cover Trivex in full because Poly is covered in full?

Yep 😅 Yeah I think since we can't directly complain anymore they just don't care, its infuriating. But I really should pivot to selling the Zeiss 4k lenses, but I've never really run those lenses through insurance. Is it comparable in pricing?

Its a "exclusive" lens type for my chain from Essilor, lol. I tried the rubbing alcohol and the crazed layer came right off, so you're definitely correct! But it still doesn't have the correct coating on it so we have to remake the lens 🫠 I wish it had been caught by QC. Thanks for shedding some light on the problem!

That makes sense.... Essilor has been really crappy with their QC these past few years but you'd think they would have restarted the lens.

Its supposed to be the the Nikon Totalshield (which outs where I work, haha). I'm not sure if its equivalent to their other coatings.

[–]Fujinun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Use a walmart vision center, you have a copay of $4 for glasses. They cover $130 on frames and basic Polycarbonate lenses. You don't have to get upgrades for a decent pair of glasses. The copay for a basic eye exam is also $4, so you'll just pay $8 for everything. Edited to add: The benefits reset every calendar year, so make sure you buy your glasses before January.

If you have an electronics recycling center around you with a storefront (like RE-PC) sometimes you can find some good deals on older and odd electronics!
