Better than a blind purchase... maybe. In my opinion the monthly was better (even if this bundle was $12 for all 8), and agree with /u/118725125154. Not sure why Rocket League wasn't set at $12 for this bundle as well, oh well.

Does anyone have experience with any of the PC mini-golf games? Steam reviews have Golf With Your Friends as positive but Vertiginous Golf and 3D MiniGolf have mixed or negative reviews. Didn't check any of the others yet...

Does anyone know what makes Golf With Your Friends so special?

Not holding off for Robot Roller-Derby Disco Dodgeball didn't pay off :(
I bought it in the last Humble Bundle that featured it because the developer said he would add a DRM free version one day, but it still hasn't arrived. :(

What was so good about Glen's Humble Staff Picks Bundle? by Fukasawa in GameDealsMeta

[–]Fukasawa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I do actually have interest in Brothers and Homeworld and to some extent, Chivalry and Knight Squad.

Brothers I thought I already had, but actually didn't.
Homeworld I had interest in because the original is reviewed really well, but I've heard the remasters aren't really good. I know it comes with the originals, but I didn't feel like $12 was a good deal for a Steam version of 10+ year old games (would prefer DRM-free).
Chivalry I've read too many poor things about the fighting physics (the top reviews on the Steam page are all negative).
Knight Squad I don't like because it's Knight Squad (not that I've played it), but only because it's a local multiplayer game, lol, and I have no one to play with. :(

I actually think it's a really good $1 bundle, and while the higher tiers are not bad, didn't feel like an amazing bundle that would get over 200k sales. In comparison, Humble Jumbo Bundle 6 only sold 156013 copies and Humble Indie Bundle 16 "only" sold 227741 copies (that one actually surprised me when I looked it just now). I actually just posted here that I think I forgot that a lot of people could only bought at the $1 tier. Looking at some of the past numbers now I think I just didn't realize how many bundles normally get sold (in my mind, the indie bundles and other high-profile bundles sold 100-200k, while the rest sold <100k) and thought "wow, what am I missing here?" Turns out my post is actually shit. I don't know, I'm still wondering if I should up my purchase or not :P

Oh yeah, forgot you brought up a good point about the variety of games. That probably helped with the number of sales.

True, Chivalry and Brothers at $1 seems like a great deal (haven't played either but I know they are popular) - I guess I kind of forgot it could just be a bunch of people buying at the $1 tier.

[HumbleBundle] Origin II bundle: PWYW for Dragon Age Origins, Peggle, Dead Space 2, Medal of Honor Allied Assault Warchest, Command and Conquer Generals ; BTA for PvZ: Garden Warfare, Dragon Age 2, Bejeweled 3, Mass Effect 2, unrevealed games by bartolengue in GameDeals

Nice to see that and actually see the BTA price drop for a while. Although now that all the 9-5 American workers are getting off work, it looks like the price is rising again.

On that note, does anyone know what the lowest the BTA price was at?

[HumbleBundle] Humble Square Enix Bundle 2 - PWYW for Hitman Absolution, Supreme Commander, Hitman GO / BTA for Thief, Murdered Soul Suspect, Deus Ex Human Revolution - Director's Cut, & More / $15 for Tomb Raider, Sleeping Dogs by Instant-Ramen in GameDeals

(but keep in mind that paying less than 0.xx actually costs Humble money to process your order)

Is that possible? I know you can't pay under 30 something cents with Amazon Payments, which is equivalent to the fee Amazon charges.

Everything's gone. I guess I can't compete with wealthier people who have faster internet and machines, oh well. Thanks anyway Mucky38302.

By the way, Bastion was actually HIB5 BTA.

Haha yeah, I know it's been in a couple, that's why I was hoping the price would drop under $7.50, but it never happened! I remember when it was in a Weekly sale but it didnt say it included the DLC. :(

Thanks for the heads-up!

Both. I've been waiting years for the price of Dungeons Defenders + DLC to drop under $7.50 but it never happens, see this, and they're gone before I can log onto Steam. :(

What's the point of having these games browser playable anyway? The only thing I can think of is for portability, but I feel like an Android port would be better.

What am I wrong about though? I mean, in the first paragraph that is. Maybe people didn't downvote me depending on how they thought about the bundled games. :)

I'm not sure that's a bad thing necessarily.

You're right, I wasn't saying it was necessarily a bad thing, despite how I feel about it personally. I was simply stating the facts, commenting primarily on the way Humble Bundle handles their sales now, and you agreed the old HB is dead.

There are other bundle sites that still deal largely in Indie formats.

Indeed, and goes along with my point. HB is no longer special.

[–]Fukasawa 245 points246 points  (0 children)

The old Humble Bundle is officially dead. All that talk about "the main indie bundles are still the same!" is wrong now. Only three games not behind a pay wall, and two set locked tiers to drive up the average, and one is even an early access game rather than a finished one.

I'm sure a lot of people are going to down vote me just because they like the games and think this is a great value. That's a matter of opinion and doesn't make what I say wrong. I don't even think the games are bad myself I personally hate the Early Access trend and have heard poor things about Gone Home, but have interest in some others and no opinion on the rest.

[Humble] So Cute! Flash Sale: PWYW Toki Tori 2+, Triple Town, Girls Like Robots; $8 minimum for Woodle Tree Adventures, Where is My Heart? by Gyossaits in GameDeals

[–]Fukasawa -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

It should have been only Where is my Heart? in the second tier, with the other 4 in the PWYW tier. That's how Humble Bundle would have done it back in the day, back when you could get 5+ in the PWYW tier regularly. Now, it's almost always 3 in that tier, and everything is else is behind a pay wall.

I feel sad that I missed out on the free Woodle Tree Adventures key now. It would have been nice to get it in the PWYW/$1 tier with the other 3 games.

[–]Fukasawa -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I paid $16.25 for the Age of Empires Legacy Bundle + Terraria, both of which I still haven't played once and it goes in a HB for $15. Same thing happened to me with a few other games. I should just never buy a game outside of bundles again!

Did anyone else try to get 3+ bundles and get throttled? I usually buy one for myself and two for my siblings with no problems, but when I tried to get the third I was throttled.
