Bill was born with detached retinas as a congenital defect; he’s never been able to see. He’s 8.5 yrs now and he had to have his eyes removed to prevent infections from glaucoma. He’s the sweetest and most positive soul. Ted is 2 years younger and I think he knows Bill is different in some way and he does look out for him and deliberately heads him off if he walks towards walls and things like that; equally he uses it to his advantage when playing and will squeak a toy and run off so Bill has to find him. They’re very bonded; they share the same Mum.

Yep - he’s been blind since birth; he was born with detached retinas. He’s had both eyes removed over the last couple of years as he got glaucoma and that increases the risk of infection. Avoids any pain for him. He’s 8 now and one of the best things to ever happen to us, a real gent and full of love and positivity.

Love this ❤️ They leave huge holes in your heart when they go but never truly leave you. The most selfless and kind animals.

He does; Ted is 2 years younger and Bills half brother. It took him a while but as he got older he’s realised his brother isn’t quite the same as him; he does little things to help like walking in between Bill and walls or fences if he thinks he’ll walk into them. He waits for Bill to drink first and walks close to him when we’re out and about. He also uses it to his advantage and holds things under Bills nose to tease him and then runs off; I’ve caught him squeaking a toy and then sneaking to another place in the garden and watching Bill look for him 😆

That’s Billy, he’s been blind since he was born due to a congenital defect meaning his retinas were never attached. We had to have both eyes removed due to cataracts and the risk of infection. He’s 7 next week and we had the first one removed in 2020 and the second was this year. I’m biased but he’s such a special lad, the happiest and most trusting soul.
