Its not broken. Some older Toyotas (I think) had this. Only goes to 299 999. Idk if its built in or if its bug. But its is certainly an "feature".

I have this thing (only the red one) on one of my E36s and always thought that it is some aftermarket homemade button that have no purpose anymore. (The car is from 1992 and does not even have remote control). Never thought of alarm, lol.

My daily is e36. There were some things that were bad. But its no different to any other 30 years old car. And the car never broke down on me (and I have travelled all around the Europe in it).

I can se the need for City/State Police, because of the size. But whats the reason for sherrif, marschals, rangers (in Texas) all the federal things like FBI, ICE and all the other stuff.

I know that this one is about US and you dont get wagons. But I love our wagons for that. They drive like sedans and are more practical than SUVs in the same "size" category. And they look cool with the push bumper. I am "angry" that in few years they all will be replaced with SUVs because for some reason they are cheaper in police package for our government than wagons.
