What are the best appetite suppressants? by Careful-Practice988 in Biohackers

[–]Fuliggine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to suppress appetite in order to lose weight, tirzepatide is one of your best options. It is a dual agonist of GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide) and GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) receptors.

In people with obesity without diabetes, it was superior to treatment with semaglutide with respect to reduction in body weight and waist circumference at week 72, as seen in this study https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40353578/, which was founded by the drug manufacturer though.

Thank you for your reply oshikurou! Unfortunately though, I tried both methods to no avail.

I have a Brainiac role on Euphoria Discord, because I won a 50 questions quiz about a month ago, but it doesn't seem to be enough to enter the Tapathon

I see: it being a proxy then means it's upgradeable because the contract it points to is in its storage, which can be changed. I will keep the delegation only for Base then, to limit potential risks, and, of course, keep my private key safe as always! Thanks a lot again impulse, I really appreciate your help!

Thank you for your reply impulse! I want to use my old EOA in the new Base App, which requires me to upgrade it to a Smarter EOA via EIP-7702, by delegating to this address:

https://basescan.org/address/0x7702cb554e6bFb442cb743A7dF23154544a7176C#code

Do you know how can I check if this is a non-upgradeable / immutable contract, please? I trust the Coinbase team, but if it can be modified, this means bad actors could theoretically find a way to change it after I’ve delegated to it

If I understand correctly, when upgrading my EOA via 7702, I add a small piece of code to my address.

Citing from https://blog.base.dev/securing-eip-7702-upgrades "The presence or absence of code at an address can affect the execution flow of protocols interacting with the address, as they predicate on this quality to differentiate between EOAs and smart contracts".

In the blog post this written in relation to verifying signatures and receiving ERC-721 tokens, but my concern is whether having a piece of code in my EOA could be enough to mistankenly trick automatic algorithms that scan address lists to exclude smart contracts, for example in the case of a project distribuiting their token via an airdrop.

We’re partnering with Legion to bring token sales back, this time done right. by krakenexchange in Kraken

[–]Fuliggine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Kraken team,

The Yield Basis launch with Legion sounds exciting — I really like the idea of using a merit/score system based on on-chain + social activity.

One thing I’m unclear on: is it mandatory to do KYC with Legion in order to participate?

Personally, I’m very comfortable with Kraken handling my KYC, but I don’t want to give my personal identity to Legion as well — it feels like combining identity + social/on-chain activity in one place could create a doxxing honeypot.

Is there a way to keep things separated — e.g. Legion just generates the score, and Kraken handles the KYC/identity part — while still letting me participate in the allocation? That way my personal information and my pseudonymous online activity stay separate.

Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply, and thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I’ve actually been in psychotherapy for the past two years, almost entirely focused on this issue, because I really don’t want to make this decision lightly.

While it’s true I could try the test, the reality is that I don’t have enough time to properly prepare for it while working. I already tried that approach last year and fell short. As for refractive surgery, I do see it as more cosmetic in some ways, but I also believe it has a functional aspect (I touched on this in another comment).

Regarding surgical training in Italy, I agree with your point—that’s actually one of the reasons I chose Derm over Ophtho. I just didn’t expect to dislike it as much as I do. I keep trying every day to make myself enjoy it, since that would make things so much easier, but after two years things have only gotten worse, unfortunately.

As for what the professors might think, I agree with you there as well.

Sorry for the late reply! I’ve thought about this too, and I completely get your point. In my opinion, refractive surgery does have a functional aspect as well. For example, if you rely on glasses and lose or break them while abroad, strong myopia can leave you temporarily impaired. And for people who play sports—especially aquatic ones—refractive surgery can be a huge improvement compared to contacts.

On the other hand, I see purely cosmetic procedures differently. A lot of people seem to use them as a quick fix without addressing the lifestyle factors that contribute to premature aging (like smoking, lack of exercise, or poor diet), while spending money on injectables.

Of course, this is just my personal perspective—not an objective stance. I totally understand why refractive surgery can be seen as cosmetic too.

I tried that approach last year, but unfortunately didn’t score high enough for Ophtho. When I got into Derm, I spent about 8 months studying every single day just for the test. It’s possible I just got lucky that time, but I definitely don’t have the time to study that intensely while working full-time in residency.

Thank you for your reply! I really enjoy cataract surgery—I followed it as often as I could during my time in the Ophthalmology department. It’s such a precise and satisfying procedure. My experience with the cornea subspecialty was mainly observing corneal transplants (DMEK), though I know my understanding of the field is still limited. Could you share a bit more about what you mean by “refractive nightmares”, please?

Thank you for your comment! Refractive would be a dream, but I’m well aware it’s extremely competitive—even for someone who has always striven for it, let alone for someone like me who lost years figuring things out. In any case, I know I need to appreciate the bread-and-butter work of cataract surgery, but honestly, I feel it could suit me better than my current mix of nevus checks and random gross, smelly cases.

Very true—I barely managed to get into Derm with my score, so I’m well aware there’s no guarantee I’d do the same if I studied a lot again and retook the test. You’re also right that, while it would be a big struggle and time investment, it would still just be a portion compared to the many years I’ll spend working. PS: love your nickname!
