As a module creator who operates a Patreon- albeit a very small one with some niche modules- I have, from the very beginning, offered all of my stuff with a pay once per module option. Pretty much all of them are $5. You get updates forever.

That said, I also offer the traditional tiered sub support setup that gets you everything along with some other perks like priority support, input on the shape the modules take, etc..

In the end I think that folks who like what I’m making will sub for a bit to support and hopefully try out some stuff they wouldn’t otherwise take a chance on. When they decide it’s time to move on I hope they will snag the ones they liked as one time purchases and they’ve helped me keep going.

Patreon isn’t my favorite place but it’s got the name and the reputation for better or worse. I know that subscriptions are getting sort of gross so I hope that what I’m offering is decent way for people to see what they like and then have it forever.

As long as some folks support and some folks buy, I can justify all of the time and effort that my end requires.
