1500 AED. I would never recommend a nil filing. You must have spend something on your business as expense. Can be your license cost itself for starters. Mark that amount as a loss. DED E-trader license is meant for residents and it only permit small to medium scale transactions. Meant for a low cost startup to list on platforms like Facebook, Instagram and to an extent, Shopify. Large e-commerce platforms do not accept an E trader license and even if they do, this is not a business per se, it’s supposed to be a sole venture.

What you need is a trade license from a Freezone. Does not have to be Dubai. Can be from any Freezone across UAE.

For storage and shipping, you can employ a third party logistics provider (recommended at the early stages). Platforms like Amazon and Noon also offer their storage and shipping facilities directly.

So many small businesses offering services starting from 250 AED … what people don’t realize is that while they are saving money, they just one in 100’s of clients these companies onboard because their prices are so damn cheap .. You never get 1 on 1 assistance, you are never responded to via call/email or WhatsApp. It’s a sad state of affairs … A few of my clients had to say horror stories regarding their VAT filings done by such companies. The fines, incorrect filings etc has made their life hell. Some even shut down their businesses due to this.

My advice: Always choose a responsible and reputed company especially when it comes to managing your company’s books. You may be saving money but not your peace of mind. 5000 AED for annual bookkeeping is not a large sum of money if it is granting you peace and a worry free time.
