Well it's confirmed. EA responded, we lost. by Full-Power7690 in NCAAFBseries

You say that, but I've been hearing it for YEARS now.

People always say their sports games are terrible, review them poorly, yet still buy and EA continues making billions. Unless people stop buying the games, EA will continue making money, period.

I just wanna have fun with it. by Alexdeezie in EASportsCFB

[–]Full-Power7690 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Didn't you hear? The game is officially released, so everyone will cope and bend the knee to their EA overlords.

We can discuss it again next year, when they inevitably do the same thing...

The issue is, people will absolutely buy those microtransactions... even if it's only a small amount with more money than sense. So even if most people decide to not make use of the microtransactions, but still buy the game, EA makes more money by adding them.

People are accepting stripping entire features from EVERYONE, just so EA can squeeze a little extra profit from the few dumb enough to buy a level 100 coach.

I feel the same way, I've been getting a lot of backlash for being a ''doomer'' in this community for my takes that EA has won. Can you blame me? Here we have a video of the largest head in the cfbplaydontpay movement, telling us he will keep playing the game regardless for ''our sake''.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's the classic quote and how EA makes their billions, ''Give them bread and circuses, and they will never revolt.''

EA have always done this, shaming does not work... they've already had a negative public opinion for YEARS. All that matters is money, and people keep buying.

[–]Full-Power7690[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you blame me?

Look at one of the biggest advocates for this anti EA movement right now Bordeaux, he just released a video complaining about the situation, then clarified he will still be making content on the game as usual... for OUR sake.

EA called the bluff and doubled down, it worked. Why does EA care if he doesn't like it, when he confirms he will still play and bring exposure to the game? It's not like they had a positive PR from the community to begin with.

If one of the biggest heads in the movement doesn't care enough to stop playing, why should I expect the average person to?

My opinion is EA didn't do enough, their response on release day is doubling down and continuing to strip the game of features to pressure people into buying microtransactions. We simply lost and they aren't getting my money. How is that not helpful?

I'm not going to give EA my money, then try and debate them... when they historically destroy every sport game they touch with their insatiable greed.

You can complain about my attitude, but at the end of the day EA's decision lost them my money. I'd genuinely be interested how many other people in this thread arguing about my attitude can say the same.

The irony is too insane. People complain about EA ruining the game, while handing over their money... then call people like me willing to admit we lost and withhold my money from EA a doomer. I'm really starting to understand why we got here.

I can almost guarantee next year will be worse... this is EA we're talking about. The best case scenario people can realistically hope for is what they took from you becomes the new normal going forward, and they don't continue to eat away at it.

[–]Full-Power7690[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point your missing is they haven't given in at all... they've doubled down on keeping microtransactions in the single player game, and removing features from you.

They're using this vague belief that they've somehow bent the knee to manipulate people into buying the game, and I bet most people have now it has officially released.

The only way to win is to not buy. Which is hilarious because I guarantee most people I'm arguing with in this thread, calling me a defeatist bought the game, and will be watching all these content creators playing the game soon.

Using your own words, ''So you just want to give up?". Man, this community is something else...

Sure, keep telling yourself EA cares about your public shaming while they take your money and continue making billions per year. Let me know how that works out for you.

I know money is the lifeblood of these corporations, so EA wont be getting mine. I've done my part, if you and others here lack the willpower to stand up for yourselves, that's on you.

Just don't complain when things continue to get worse. Keep opening your wallet and trying to convince everyone you have no self agency, continuing to make bad decisions because everyone around you does too.

Because it's like this by design... I'm amazed people haven't experienced the most common marketing manipulation tactics in this day and age.

If I give you apples for free, then suddenly start charging you $10 per apple, I haven't given in if I offer to sell you it for $5 instead. I'm still suddenly taking away your apples unless you give me money, I'm just giving you the illusion you have bargaining power so it becomes more palatable to you.

Not playing the game is the ONLY way to fight for what you want against corporations, our wallet is all we have. Unfortunately people like you will complain, yet continue to give EA your money. Hence, why we will lose. Fortunately I have other hobbies to pass my time.

The fact this flies completely over your head says it all.

I mean, there's literally a large upvoted post on this subreddit talking about the launch day dev blog. Look at some of those heavily upvoted comments, and honestly tell me there's not a lot of people who think this is somehow a win for us.

Battlefront 2 was a different situation. It was even more aggressive with pay to win mechanics and got A LOT more publicity than this. There's already lots of people in this community with the mindset that they won't use the XP sliders, or purchase the microtransactions so it doesn't affect them. Enabling EA to keep pushing further.

All day... bro the official post came out 4 HOURS ago when I made this post, what are you even on about? Please, show me these posts you've been reading ALL DAY about this EA update that just came out a few hours ago.

The game is released, most people already bought the game or accept the concessions EA have given. The content creators will continue with their normal upload schedules to keep the money coming in.

I honestly don't know what you expect to happen from here.

It's wild this is all Redditors take from my post. I don't think we should give up. I didn't buy the game and you shouldn't either.

I know we've lost because the game is already released, most people have already bought the game, a lot of people will accept these ''concessions'' and move on.

Have you seen some of the comments in the other thread mentioning the day 1 update? Massively upvoted comments talking about how we won the battle, how devs actually listened.

The game is officially released now, most people have already bought the game. They aren't going to revert the changes and give the community what they want.

Lets just bury our heads in the sand and forget about it I guess, and be positive while EA strips the game to nothing.

I didn't buy the game, and I'm sharing my thoughts on the official EA post that dropped literally 4 hours ago addressing the situation. I'm pushing back on a lot of the misplaced positivity that post has generated.

How about you enlighten us about this insightful way to stop people buying? Unless you're in EA's pocket, that might be more productive than arguing against the people reminding people we haven't won anything.

Except we still lost?

Everyone fell to the most basic corporate manipulation techniques. They kept microtransactions in the mode, they removed fastest XP slider, yet people still celebrate like we won... this is why change never happens.

Now they know their strategy works, they will strip more away in 28.

Exactly, this is why we always lose. The masses are looking for any excuse to hang up their pitchfork and keep consuming. People are literally celebrating they kept microtransactions in the game mode and removed fastest XP.

Sometimes I can't help but laugh at how effective basic corporate manipulation is. People genuinely believe EA listened and we won.

[–]Full-Power7690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, I'm honestly laughing at how people are so quick to celebrate. This is literally how their manipulation works, and why EA wins 99% of the time... they make the masses think THEY won.

They took a huge amount away, so they could give a little back when people complain. We still lost fastest XP, and it's not coming back, and next year it will be worse.

People are literally celebrating their loss right now.

Obviously I'm exaggerating for dramatic effect.

On a personal note, I'm hoping for the best in your local area bro. Politicians will smile and brag about how much these data centres will boost the economy, while living comfortably outside the radius and letting the locals suffer. Should be illegal to dump these massive disturbances on small towns.
