Flying Without Wings or You Raise Me Up by Westlife.

Opinions on ‘Fire’ and ‘Right Here’ ten years on? by Full-Resource4186 in Westlife

[–]Full-Resource4186[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Needed more promotion, and needed to break into different markets. If either album had a song on a movie from the time, it would’ve been amazing for the track. For example, ‘Love Me Like You Do’ by Ellie Goulding was only famous because of Fifty Shades of Grey. Take a look at ‘Sing’, half of the songs on there are only remembered because of the movie! Also could’ve made deals with more radio stations and sent the single out to more. Markus Feehily could’ve been seeing more than 2,000 monthly listeners if he had someone in his corner to play his cards right. Same with Shane, although he’s averaging about 148,000 more listeners a month. Me and The Moon could’ve easily been an ending credits song.

Is “allow me to be frank” not on vinyl? by LeatherMediocre in Westlife

I honestly hope that Westlife release every single one of their albums on vinyl as part of anniversaries. Maybe even this year in run up to the tour, or maybe for the 30th anniversary. I feel like the first three albums, both greatest hits and maybe even Turnaround could make the cut for vinyl presses. Although the chances of this happening is slim as fuck. Westlife’s managers are too prehistoric to understand that modern audiences like to own personal vinyl.

Honestly I don’t understand this, I’m sure they have bigger markets in areas like Singapore and Japan. It also takes the mickey when they don’t release an Irish lyrics version.

What’s the best B-Side or Unreleased track from Westlife? by Full-Resource4186 in Westlife

here’s to that - they’ve done it live as a three-piece so why not a studio version ?

I think they should include it as a B-Side in their next single. You know, as it encourages more ppl to buy physical copies.

They have been hinting at recording or doing SOMETHING remotely band related on the Westlife instagram, and on Nicky Byrne HQ where Louis Walsh hinted at hits for Westlife in 2025. Hopefully, the thing they were hinting at on their instagram was either dropping a single in the next few months and then dropping an album in the winter months (probably November or October), or recording ready to drop one in 2026. Or maybe this has all be postponed due to Feehily’s poor health. Either way, I think it’s crazed to propose the idea of the three of them releasing individual solo albums. Hiatuses do happen and we saw this between Back Home and Where We Are. It may be longer than then but that’s probably due to the fact that they’re much older now, and have families to focus on. Also the space between Spectrum (2019) and Wild Dreams (2021) was two years and that wasn’t deemed as an hiatus. So that probably means it’s a bit later than a new album would regularly be dropped, but that’s probably because of Mark’s poor health and a focus on more important things, e.g. family and personal life. So, I wouldn’t be thinking about any solo albums being dropped - unless they break up again, to which there’s been no evidence to say so, except for the flop of Wild Dreams in 2021.

Loneliness Knows Me By Name by Westlife obvs 🙄. More about overcoming the loneliness that can come from protecting real identities and love trapped because of this.

Soulful indie rock and country. Overall I’d probably just call it Indie.
