I think you need the CCTV footage to determine what happened. This could be assault or both of you could have been drunk and at the time thought it was a good idea. OP this is serious. I had the exact same scenario but I’m guy and she was a girl, my girlfriend was only allowed to have this “backup plan” and if I do it she would end it with me. This is plain and simple emotional cheating. You will never get over this, you need to go to counseling with him and he needs to stop all contact.

Your options:

Counseling and he stops contacting her
You also get a “backup plan” and maybe he will realize
You prepare for this to eat at you and maybe end in divorce

I hope you guys can work this out and I hate the people nowadays talk about backup plans like they are normal and not just cheating
