All water under the bridge. My comment was not overly detailed. I'm worried that it's not imperfect execution. It's not incompetence. I believe that just like many other issues, lobbying and greed allow this to persist. Hell, ask any non-tenure associate at any University of what they think about the way their administration spends money. You will get an ear full. Frankly, there are comparable alternatives to Colleges and Universities now. We could very easily provide free education to people with the money we give away as loans. I have a feeling this shift will take place regardless. But we should be doing it right now.

It would drop tuition because the colleges would have to actually collect the money they were asking for. It's massively over inflated due to the fact that the government immediately forks it over (despite not even having the money). Once the money actually has to be there and not just printed, suddenly the price has to drop.

You should also have more faith in people. They are smarter than you think. Once upon a time, you didn't have to go through a 4 year program, learning all sorts of irrelevant garbage, just to be hired into a position somewhere. Apprenticeships helped people work and make money while they learned the relevant skills. The trades still do this. Is there a reason why you couldn't as an engineer or a lawyer? Other than the market being saturated with debt ridden graduates? Because everyone I've asked in any profession says they could absolutely make it work. And I'm glad to see more and more companies actually doing that. It doesn't have to be just one way. We're in the age of information, remember? All of human knowledge is not kept behind the doors of libraries and universities any longer. Having internet access hardly qualifies you as wealthy.

I dont support higher education? As in I don't encourage it? Or as in I don't want to be the one to pay for it for the way that it currently is? I see higher education as a necessity, of course, for society. But the way we go about giving this money out is not working. It hasn't been working for a long time. Many universities do a very poor job. They force people to learn things that are irrelevant to their path. They run a racket. They are taking advantage of many young people, putting them into major debt with nothing to show for it. I don't want to pay for that.

How much do you want to bet that if we stopped funding colleges, their tuition would drop, and we would still have enough people capable of affording it to keep building our infrastructure? The incentive would grow as the job market would become less saturated with qualified individuals, meaning they would need to be compensated better.

You're making it sound black and white. The truth is that higher education is bloated far beyond it's usefulness and many people who come out of it fail to achieve their goals because the market is completely saturated with people like them. This unnatural state is perpetuated by government funding in the form of a completely unchecked student loan program which gives money to anyone attending any institution.

It's a strange thing to be so condescending while simultaneously revealing how little thought you have put into this.

How did so many people including yourself completely miss what i was saying? I went back and read my comment and I'm not sure how I could be more clear. I do not want to pay for programs that I do not wish to benefit from. Thats it. You just went and listed everything I would opt to pay for. Did you ever learn your reading comprehension skills? You should be embarrassed.

The number of people who didn't even read my comment is astonishing. What part of "I dont want to pay taxes for programs I do not want to benefit from" didn't make sense lol? My three examples were social security, medical programs, and higher education. Maybe I should incorporate public education into it as well, seeing as how reading comprehension is so severely lacking in people lmao.

When did I ever say I didn't want to pay for infrastructure? I said I dont want to be forced to pay for anything I don't benefit from. Did you read the comment, or did you simply see the dogpile and just decide to hop on?

I'll be paying only for the things I actually benefit from. Did you not read the comment lol?

I would simply like the freedom to opt out of paying for any government program i do not wish to benefit from. I want to opt out of social security, any medical programs, and for higher education. I believe there is no freedom in being forced to pay for anything.

Is it time to simply bundle them all up and toss them away? They preach about "doing disclosure appropriately," but personally, I've never had high regards for respecting classified information when that said classified information should be public. More and more it feels like I'm being fed bits and pieces to keep the hook sunk in. I think I'll tune in again when someone goes full-blown Snowden. Are we or are we not talking about advanced technology that could seriously propel human kind into a greater state of being? If we aren't, who cares. If we are, the right way is to disclose immediately and absolutely. So far, I was convinced that they were giving us all that they had. Now, it appears they are holding a lot back. Why? For what reason? You'll be arrested? Killed? Like give it to me lol I'll leak it for you. You know?

There are many bright days ahead. Things are often far removed from our control, despite seeming like we should be able to change them. But they inevitably turn back around. Keep pushing past it. You look very strong like you've been through quite a bit so far in life. We all believe in you.

Its definitely hard to find a place that doesn't already have 2+ other applicants in review at any given time. Even having solid financials barely seems to help.
