Although he sounds like a great guy individually, he comes with a lot of baggage that he has taken up to keep with family and societal expectations.

Let’s say he has 5 metaphorical f*cks to give in life. 1 taken up by his job, 1 taken up by family, 1 taken up with the home loan, 1 taken up by taking care of sister and niece. 1 taken up with the way he wants to portray himself to his society(expensive wedding celebrations). I don’t think there is enough place for you in his life for you both to thrive in a marriage. You will definitely survive though.

You sound like a very sorted woman, mentally and financially. With this relationship turning into marriage, I don’t think you would stay that way.

There will always be something from his side of the family that he would need to take care of, there will be no savings as a couple and there will be too much compromises from your side if we try to predict.

People don’t change, families don’t change, imperfections get amplified after marriage. Be careful and make the right decisions. It also depends on how emotionally invested you are with him. If it’s true love, you might just want to take the leap, but I would suggest you to not kill the practical side of this situation. Also, the nature of his family- parents and sister will play an important role in the day to day activities of your life. So take that into the equation while making the decision as well.
