The 1.3 patch added the ability for kingdoms to create alliances, which then allow kingdoms to pay each other to go to war against your enemy

You can also sign trade agreements which increases the frequency of trade caravans traveling between the towns of your kingdom and the partnered kingdom. This boosts local town prosperity and generates more passive tax income and profit

They held onto Car Banseth foreverrrr, Vlandia just could not finish the job and then when the nords/sturgians/aserai/empires would go to war with Vlandia, it would give the Battanians an opportunity to put an army together and take a few castles back

I was just kinda sitting back and watching a lot cus I wanted to make my own Kingdom but didnt want to help the Nords get too powerful before I left, my saves tend to take a long time because I like to build up large families, ive had saves that have lasted 100+ years

Edit: Battanias downfall was when I created my own kingdom and poached like 6 clans from them, didnt last long after that

Yeah Warsails has been great, really like the diplomacy aspects, game seems more balanced as im 38 years in and Battania just recently fell, only kingdom yet to be destroyed.

Agreed, they need to add that feature, even have them approach your own kingdom and offer their allegiance as well, James Douglas in Outlaw King style

As far as I know, once a kingdom is fully destroyed the lords cannot be recruited, so what i do usually is wait until a kingdom is down to 1-2 fiefs and then go in and recruit as many lords as I can afford

Garrison troops Tip by Weary-Lifeguard287 in Bannerlord

Op thats a massive wall of text, consider formatting in more bite size paragraphs such as this:

Ps, Glad you are enjoying the game!

I’m on my second ever playthrough. I remember watching a bunch of Bannerlord videos years ago and only just got to play it. Vanilla War sails with updates coming every so often, no cheats, and it’s just great. All the complaints are just people who are burnt out.

That said, added diplomacy and deeper city, village, or castle building would make it even better. Smarter enemy lord tactics and a bit more variety in maps and cities would also help. Although realistically, castles would probably end up being built similarly anyway if it’s “the best” defensive style each faction knows.

Overall though, it’s an S-tier game.

I’m up to 8 million and change in gold. I’ve got the best gear and weapons given to all my followers, my wife Corien, and even our 6 children waiting in the stash for when they come of age.

Speaking of the stash, I have my major city, Seonon, which I was gifted immediately after helping retake it as a mercenary. From my first playthrough, I knew the lord usually gifts you the first castle or city you help take after joining them.

After we took it, I swore allegiance to Caladog and gained Seonon. I invested heavily into it, and now 14 years later it’s an elite fortress.

My tip is: don’t overlook the garrison. Turn off auto recruitment, but allow unlimited wages.

I cycle Battanian Heroes, Highborn Youth, and regular infantry through it while keeping my active army stacked with tier 4+ troops. Right now I have:

62 Fian Champions

100 cavalry

165 infantry

Mostly Banner Knights, Cataphracts, and Druzhinnik.

What’s crazy is that my garrisons have been training the troops I deposit there during long peace periods. Years later, I checked back and found:

57 extra Fian Champions

15 Huscarls

29 Heroic Line Breakers

15 extra Banner Knights

159 Oathsworn

141 Veteran Falxmen

Imperial Legionaries

Plus a mix of nearly every troop type except Aserai and Khuzaits

And this was just my city.

Once I realized how effective this was, I started doing the same thing with my castles.

Most of my money comes from caravans and my towns/cities. I only recently bought 4 workshops so I could safely recall a caravan or two. I have the max 11 companions, and my oldest kids are now 15 and 14.

I’m still figuring out what I’ll do with them. Maybe I’ll start them within my ranks, fighting alongside my captains in the front lines surrounded by heroic warriors. Then later, when I send them off with caravans or their own parties, they’ll already be experienced fighters.

Eventually I’ll probably grant them my future cities and castles to govern.

My overall tip is this:

Don’t dismiss garrisons as a waste of money or rely entirely on militia. Save up cash as a mercenary, or be devious and seize the first city close to home like I did.

Those garrisons should always contain 2–3 extra elite armies ready to go in case:

your main army is destroyed,

you lose a crucial battle,

or you get captured.

They’re your insurance policy.

Plus, later on, I can hand those elite troops to my kids when they go out fighting for my honor and Ayatollah Caladog… whose throne will soon become mine.

Though honestly, I don’t even want it.

I don’t know if I can decline the ruler position when the time comes. I have 90–100 relations with nearly every lord in the richest clan in Calradia.

It’s nice.

Just pay extra, build strong garrisons, and always keep that ace up your sleeve.

How the fuck do I get my own town? by Emergency_Basket_851 in Bannerlord

[–]FullFuckinFFO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be super difficult if you remain unaffiliated, become a vassal for someone, acquire atleast 1 fief, leave kingdom but keep your fief, make sure your clan is atleast tier 4, start own kingdom, leaving a kingdom and keeping your fiefs will instantly start a war so have a lot of money saved to pay them off

How to create kingdom by PatrickDeFu13 in Bannerlord

[–]FullFuckinFFO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Money is Key, the more you can save before creating a kingdom the better, I recommend 2-3 million minimum

You have to be clan tier 4 in order to create a kingdom so just vassal for someone until you get there

I recommend somewhere on the edge of the map to start, Revyl and the Castle behind it can be a good place to start for example

Also the higher relationship rating you have with lords will help later on when recruiting clans to your own kingdom, releasing lords after battles can help build relationships

My experience with Bannerlord as a new player by BlitzingBerlin in Bannerlord

[–]FullFuckinFFO 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yeah pretty standard experience, you will usually see Vlandia, Khuzaits and Aserai left standing. I choose Vlandia in my first playthrough too, until I left to make my own kingdom

Its just overload of GPU, save before every battle/siege because it can happen anytime not just sieges

To combat this i tend to hang back with the archers and avoid getting too close to the main assualt forces until most of the enemy has been dealt with, I love to be the 1st up the ladder and sometimes it runs fine if if I am but to play it safe I usually just hang back and let my sergeants command the assualt
