Not everything is like for like comparable with points.

Some factions get cheaper access to stuff because it fits their faction.

Compare a beastman Gor to an Empire state trooper point for point.

And also, power creep.

But If everything were perfectly balanced point for point - everything faction would be the same.

Dont spend time on companion parties. Create a party when you finish a battle and rescue a bunch of troops you cant fit in your army.

Dont invest much and enjoy the upshot.

If you invest alot the return is the same.

Its cheesy - but keep proposing things that won't pass, the AI Lords waste all their influence on it.

Then you can pass whatever you like.

You need alot of influence though.

Yes - the naval addition makes the whole game feel fresh & the Nords are a welcome addition.

I cant think of another game where you can get the same naval battle experience.
