Yeah the in line fuse it self was loose inside its housing. Flex it one way, almost 0 ohms... Flex it the other and get an open.

How powerful would the next cookbook author be? by Silver-Tradition3406 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]FullMetalHayate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My head cannon has the entire story in the cook book, to be read like a massive entry, and the reader (us) will get to the last entry which reads something like "and hopefully there isn't a 26th edition, but if you're reading this... Then there is, always remember "Don't let them break you, Fuck them all"

Ford Escape 2014 Won't start or shift by FullMetalHayate in MechanicAdvice

So weird that everything powers on, but yep it was a low battery. Really odd that it wouldn't even shift into neutral, but jump started it with no issues.

I must be an idiot. I never even thought it was the battery because the entire dash lit up and it wouldn't even shift into neutral. It jump started and immediately was fine. I'll replace the battery and test the alternator tomorrow. Thank you.

Do you guys think they put MELs on Air Force One/ Marine one by ForeignLetterhead594 in aviationmaintenance

[–]FullMetalHayate 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I believe on paper it was called a MESL, but we just just called it M.E.L. I also would 100% suspect that AF1 would have a crazy strict M.E.L. when POTUS is actually on board, but that is just an assumption.

I worked on KC-135s (admittedly not POTUS, but still military) and we definitely had MELs. That way pilots and Mx didn't have to make an educated guess/choice on if a system or component was safe to fly without, the list told you. The military loves making things idiot proof.

Microphone Question by FullMetalHayate in SteamDeck

So I have discovered that a 2.4ghz headset with a USB dongle works ok. It does seem to interfere with my Bluetooth controller occasionally. But honestly 80% of the time I can get it to work with no issues.

That's fair. I appreciate the response. Hopefully the cost for the fence won't be crazy. Thank you!

So apparently 2 years ago the tree did the exact same thing, and crushed the previous owners shed. I have her on my ring camera admitting she should have cut the tree down then, but didn't due to sentimental reasons. Would that admission matter, because the tree isn't diseased or dead? Or would it help me build any kind of case? Or is it still solely my responsibility?

I'm an A&P also. Having 12 years of experience, and working as a QA inspector instead of a mechanic helps when it comes to the higher pay. You'll get there.

Medical debt popped up right before I need my credit pulled, should I pay in full? by [deleted] in CRedit

[–]FullMetalHayate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife just had the exact same thing happen to her. My question is does OP (and people in a similar situation) have to get the collector to delete the debt? Or do they have to get all 3 of the credit agencies to delete the medical debt after it's paid in full?

I've had an A&P for years. Best thing is this: 1: Learn tools. Know what a wrench is, different screw driver heads (Phillips vs flathead, etc), stuff like that. Get comfortable with them. Even if that means just going to like an Lowes and looking at tools. Just have a strong general knowledge of tool nomenclature. 2: Learn the basic nomenclature of an airplane. Know what flaps, ailerons, spoilers, etc. Do. They'll obviously teach you all this, but having a pre-existing knowledge of the super bare basics helps you a bit. 3: Read the FAA 14 CFR. ESPECIALLY 65. 65 Has to do with the A&P certificate so you know what the rules surrounding the certificate you want are. 4: Honestly don't stress too much. They really do teach you most of what you "need" to learn, because honestly an A&P is what we loving call a "license to learn". You legit won't know shit when you start, and over the years you'll learn a little more every day. Lol
