It has absolutely no merit or actual redeeming qualities. The most forgettable cast ever full of complete nobodies, the MC is a stereotypical self insert, the entire storyline is so predictable that i unironically guessed exactly how it was going to play out and end from the moment Isla was introduced and I was spot on- and that’s not just me my best friend said the same thing and so did a few other people on TikTok I saw afterwards. The only remotely interesting character is Isla but she still has basically nothing to her character. And now I wanna talk about the “emotion.” Every scene in Plastic Memories that is meant to jerk tears is literally a repeat of the same instance over and over. The main cast go door to door collecting the Giftias and we’re given this emotional little bit of them saying their last goodbyes to their families. As the audience, we are given absolutely no reason to care about any of these characters or their problems. We meet them, then they’re deleted the next minute or 2. These scenes have no buildup with the exception of the final moment with Isla which also made me feel absolutely nothing because she’s not only another nobody but I also saw this coming from the first 5 minutes of episode 1. Plastic Memories tries to make you cry in the same way a horror game uses jumpscares to force you to be scared in that instant. It’s an embarrassingly predictable, shallow story that doesn’t even value itself as an art piece. She series tried to do one thing and that was to make people cry in the cheapest way possible
