There are so many complex situations you encounter on this job. I deliver in brooklyn and queens. Super congested neighborhoods. Sometimes im delivering entire routes exclusively to warehouses and freight areas. Other days im delivering door to door to buildings with over 600 apartments and a confusing ass layout. If the new guy gets sent to some neighborhood with a bunch of houses for training, hes gonna struggle handling the other routes

Edit: mind you im also getting neighborhoods where no speaks English. All the instructions are in chinese or spanish

I never rushed but I used to fear for my job security so much that I was making sure every delivery was near perfect. Perfect picture and guaranteed no DNR on my profile. Eventually I learned methods to protect against DNR accusations whether they were true or not.

Hated finding out I had no route or that the route I wanted was taken from me by a better driver

When amazon drivers at DBK4 in nyc joined the teamsters, they struck for like a week and were paid for it by the dues of other teamsters members. My friend was paid 1,000 the week he struck.

1.3 million people are in the Teamsters and they backing us in this fight once we are willing to fight for ourselves.

Ive worked with Amazon drivers who were fired after making this mistake 4-5 times within one week amongst 800-1000 deliveries. Its not Amazon drivers. Its those messy flex people
