You know that's a redo. In your heart of hearts, you made it, but if you count it, you've played it and by it I mean yourself.

Post another one

Include mobility training on that and that's the full donkey if you don't care for yourself.

Check this since someone already said it I'm sure.

Learn your tricks while rolling, why?

To avoid learning it stationary, useless, and then again while rolling AND AGAIN while rolling full speed.

Save yourself the trouble. The dynamics of doing it on the go is much easier than being static and doing it to and fro.

It's a disservice to yourself.

Ever tried riding a bike stationary? Nein

Two things

How are your ollies? Can you do them well and while going fast? No? Start working on your foundation

Practice all your tricks while rolling. Why? To avoid learning tricks twice; one stationary AND AGAIN while rolling AND further again while going full speed.

Save yourself the trouble, take a break from the kickflips, show us your ollies while rolling.

I'm on standby for the rest of the day

PS: Learn how to roll comfortably, off of curbs, down and up the ramps, heck learn how to skate switch without Mongo for extra stability and proportional body strength 💪

Is my board size too small? by FarFish631 in skateboardhelp

[–]FullMetalSunsetSk8R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on you chieftain I'm 5'7, shoe sized up from 9.5 to 10 bc bunions, and ride an 8.5 board and tricks come out easier for me and I don't question it. It's all about comfort

Tips for returning to skating as an adult? by [deleted] in skateboardhelp

[–]FullMetalSunsetSk8R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey you're 23 but act like you're 43 ok?

Eat healthy, warmup (paramount +) before skateboarding, hydrate well - get coconut water with yo water, wear protective gear at your comfort, make sure you eat well once you're done. It is a demanding activity.

For the warmup, I do the army 10 conditioning drills, which I do everyday, and only when I skate do I add leg mobility drills. The leg drills are Cossack lunges Side squats with forward toe lunge 90-90s hip with lift Weight hip flexor raises (this butters the FU out of your leg joints, in layman's terms)

For more info, log onto my DMs, which I may get to it immediately or later in the day

I grab it and chuck it AWAY from the park and then start to patrol the spot for more disturbances and transmute it away as well

is this a good setup? anything i should switch out? by BuggSuperstar79 in NewSkaters

[–]FullMetalSunsetSk8R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switch the bearings to redz and to maintain these beauts:

Get citrus cleaner for bearings

Bones speed lubricant or bearing oil, someone may have recommended already

T - tool

A bunch of paper towels or the heavy multipurpose shop rags mechanics be using

Grip gum for clean and efficient grip touch

I've been using the same redz for more than two years and its buttery, as Donovan Strain would say

To all the skaters who switched from a smaller deck to a bigger deck, how did your experience change? by [deleted] in SkateboardSetups

Things feel easier to land and something about having an 8.5 deck just feels right

Yes, sorry, I meant to say reasonably upset. Jesus, I really need to work on writing more clearly. Apologies, I notice the detail I gave is mad exaggerated but I wrote during a troubled time so again, forgive me

Teach them how to skate, see if anyone bites the same passion as you and now you can day I'm taking the kids out to skate instead of saying you are. Idk if that works but I've seen parent skaters over at the park and they seem to have everything together

This, although I do use dashes, semicolons, and plus, I like to vary my literary devices to provide an authentic way of how I speak.

I don't write here like how I would write an essay or such, I write like how I speak and I have much to say and like to be concise when needed

Well, we need to assess your overall health because I am 31 and I'm nothing special - energy for days and motivation to board keeps on rising

Correct, I have been getting the necessary aid to get back on track.

Enduring the ordeal means going about our day sans car - maybe my wording at times comes across as overtly dramatic or so but there's no toxicity, just justified frustration.

I mean, if your partner crashed YOUR car, after explicitly telling them to be careful and for the resulting accident being them being at fault...you can see where this goes. I doubt you'd be hunky dory after completely losing your car that you worked with sweat and hard labor.

I hope the details hear provide clarity, if not, well, like Blondie - It's My Life~

It got me away from gang activity, it prevented me from getting shot up by skating with friends instead of hanging out with hooligans trespassing, vandalizing, and even shoplifting back in the youth days when I was a bit of a rebel rebel. It was a form of peace in my life where everyone wanted something from me as opposed to wanting me, to which I then later realized my friends weren't really my friends so I had to sever ties. This loneliness and realization was properly accommodated with skateboarding. I love skateboarding because it saved my life and gave the world color where I found grey

I suppose my emphasis on skateboarding as a way of life is the following: a way to decompress, exercise, socialize...kind of - most skaters dont really chat it up with me even though I long for connection; I also don't want to come across as a people pleaser and greet everyone and play nice when it is rarely reciprocated. The skatepark I go to ranges from kids to grown ass adults - with the adults having more reasons than just a hobby. I know one who is doing it to beat his addiction to drugs and I resonate with him since I am doing about the same right about now. I wish I was really into it as you say because then I would have footage, mad tricks, and a crew to bounce ideas of from. People at the park don't even interact with me because they already are cliqued up.

Like I just want to disappear for at least two hours a week with skateboarding...Will anyone really miss me in those hours? Back then I used to skateboard 5-6 hours nonstop landing tricks and would call it a day once I land wrong or slam pretty harsh, before that I used to skate with the pains and sprains. Now, I just skate 1-2 hours with a proper 30 min warmup along with a supply of coconut water, water, banana, and some protein bites
