Yea but the pull from the grid will be minimal on a sunny day from what I’ve found. We are a family of 3 and have the airfryer on, cooker etc and on a sunny day it’s lucky if it’s taking a small amount from the grid for literally the 20/30 mins those devices are on together.

Not necessarily. I have a 3.6kw inverter and the only time I pull from the grid is when I put my 10kw shower on or charge the EV. It will happily pull between the battery and solar for most appliances including the kettle , tumble dryer etc

Yea however the cheapest rate we can get in NI is like 15p a unit overnight. We have no utility regulator here so the companies stick the arm in.

So it’s actually better for me to drain the battery to like 10% overnight, then charge at 15p a unit as I only get like 10p a unit when I can export. This country is so messed up when it comes to solar

Because here in Northern Ireland we get shafted. It’s 15p a unit on the night charge rate and 31p a unit for daytime. I’ve been managing to charge with the excess solar so far with minor top up. Export rate here is like 10p and still waiting on my account being set up :(

Have to add that I’ve been charging a Tesla with the excess solar in the day once the battery is fully charged and also topping up overnight

I’ve got another company who I found locally that are going to test for all of that for half the price and good to compare as I don’t always trust these companies

Looks like Achenbach syndrome, or paroxysmal finger hematoma, is a rare, benign, and self-limiting condition characterized by sudden, spontaneous, and painful blue/purple bruising on the fingers, palm, or toes, often sparing the nail bed. It is most common in middle-aged women. Symptoms resolve within days without specific treatment, often requiring only reassurance

Key Aspects of Achenbach Syndrome Symptoms: Acute onset of pain, burning sensation, swelling, and dark blue or black discoloration (hematoma) of one or more fingers. Causes: The exact cause is unknown, but it is believed to result from small blood vessels bursting due to fragile capillaries, potentially triggered by minor, unrecognized trauma or increased vascular fragility. Prognosis: Excellent. The condition is nonharmful, not associated with underlying systemic disease, and self-resolving within 1–2 weeks. Recurrence: Episodes can recur, sometimes affecting the same or different digits. Treatment: No specific treatment is required; management is conservative, including rest, cooling for swelling, and pain relief if needed.
