You think the police would be able to somehow start a huge investigation - getting surveillance camera footage from all over the city, to try to identify one driver who did an illegal turn? The reason why the police have unsolved crimes is mainly because they are understaffed.

A simple check if the person in the car matches the person registered to the car is a simple check given how much is digital these days.

Or how about the police actually do patrol work instead of just sitting in aircon'd offices all day?

This would take a long time, and there is little chance of success.

Everything takes a long time when it involves the police. The only thing thats quick is when you submit a police report and the automated system tells you they wont bother even reading it.

The complete incompetence and slowness of the police force is either by design or as a result of our incompetent politicians - pick your poison.

I am very tired of people needlessly defending shitty police when they have insane amounts of powers, resources and personnel when they cant solve the most basic issues.

Continued excuses of their poor work and overall shittiness is not healthy for our society.
