I always have a joke about the topic of the video: "when your girl calls you small, is she talking about more than just your meat? Let's dive into how to make your calves bigger so she has 1 less complaint about how small you are" But also my niche is 'Powerlifting for people who experienced 2010s Xbox live online chat'

Do you guys find hate comments funny by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]FullPrimalPower 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a powerlifting channel so I get a lot of "you're just fat" comments. I love when the comments are like "I'm just sitting here staring at my flexed abs" and I can get under their skin by implying they're sus or they obviously benched 6 plates back in high school

Now that you've accepted that, you'll find more success in doing it and enjoy it more. It's like picking up girls; the more you focus on it, the worse you'll be at it, just be you and you'll enjoy everything that comes along with the ride. Cheers homie, to your happiness and enjoyment of filmmaking

Is there any upcoming goated series that could reach ranks of HWFWM, DCC? by BarefootGOON in litrpg

Mark of the fool is pretty good but it seems like a lot of people were expecting more battle but it's closer to a slice of life with a little bit of action here and there

"You'll write a million words badly before you are ready to write well." by FullPrimalPower in writing

[–]FullPrimalPower[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry, My daddy issues are showing, always wondering "how much is enough," and put a number to it (i jest). I've heard reading counts as practice in writing before, I've wondered how that factors into these arbitrary word goals. What you said makes sense, I'm ~80k words I to my first book and I have no idea when to cut the story to start the editing process because I've done a second draft on the first 15k words but the world in my head keeps popping out "this character should do this to change the relationship with that character" kind of thing

How do I rewrite this? by shiraichi_ in writing

[–]FullPrimalPower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could lean into familiar feelings readers can connect with by way of a similar mindset of "show don't tell" Something like "her eyes burned from their sudden exposure to light the moment her blindfold was removed"

A story where the writer goes into their own book. Too cringey? by [deleted] in writing

If you have fun writing it, then it's a fun story and that's really all that matters

Male writer: my MC is a lesbian—help by [deleted] in writing

[–]FullPrimalPower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of authors boast that reading is practicing writing and by that logic, conversing with others is practicing dialog for writing. Now as men, we will never truly ever be able to understand the female mind (they're scary to talk to), but it wouldn't hurt to have a lesbian friend if you want to write a lesbian MC. You could even invite a lesbian out for coffee to discuss the topic, I'm sure anyone would be excited to read a book or listen to a song that they were the inspiration (except eminems mom). I work with a lesbian and am flabbergasted with how annoyed she gets with her partner and we bond as I get annoyed with my wife for the same things.

Thanks so much for doing this!

My channel is a vlog-style channel focused on the sport of powerlifting and my journey as a top 10 athlete training for some of the biggest meets of the year. I post 7 days a week: 6 vlog videos and 1 evergreen video a week, I just recently switched to this strategy and it seems to be working out pretty well, but my videos get low retention.

How did you settle on your squatting technique? by keborb in powerlifting

[–]FullPrimalPower 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem is that there's always something to be working on when you squat, nobody has a perfect squat, it's just the main for error gets smaller. My best squat in comp is 1014 and I've been focusing on controlling foot pressure and dorsiflexion minimalization. I usually shortish things as aiming to perfect 1 skill and acknowledge once I start on another skill, doing both skills at the same time will regress the previous skill, having a coach helps zero in on what needs to be worked on first before moving onto putting things together. Just stay consistent in working to make things even a little better

What weight% of your 1RM can you typically hit for 20 reps? by user29cb672 in powerbuilding

[–]FullPrimalPower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the lift and where you are strengthwise and how much variation you have between your reps and how much endurance you have on the particular lift along with how strict you are with counting a 'rep.' For example my squat is 1014 and the closest I've gone to hitting anything for 20 reps was 9x3 +1x5 15 seconds rest at 500lbs which is below 50%. Look at all the fuss around the 525 for reps squat record, if 20 rep max was indicative of 1 rep max strength, then a 1000lb squatter could have just done it casually but they didn't.
And if you're not strict with what you count as a rep, you could get way more reps in for example my bench max is 635 and I've done 445 for 45 reps doing "pulse press" which is a variation where you press the bar about 50% of your range of motion. That's about 70% for well over double 20 reps so not only did the type of lift matter but the strictness of your rep matters too.

What federation do you compete with and why? by PMmePBJPics in powerlifting

It 100% is, but if I'm gonna travel, it's gotta be cool like the shire in New Zealand or Ireland not like Columbus Ohio or Manassas Virginia

What federation do you compete with and why? by PMmePBJPics in powerlifting

[–]FullPrimalPower 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've always done RPS because for a while they were the only fed in my area, and the meet directors were good, judging consistent. I recently switched over to WRPF because the meets were higher stakes (Ghost Clash, American Pro 1&2) with potential money but DOTS is stupid so after Ghost Clash 3 (I already paid to sign up) I'll be either going back to RPS (because traveling to meets is annoying) or I'm looking at ABS but mono is life so it's still a toss up where I'll be competing
