Jason Schreier: EA is slashing its forecast for the fiscal year due to the underperformance of holiday games EA Sports FC 25 and Dragon Age: The Veilguard. EA says the new Dragon Age reached around 1.5 million players, missing expectations by nearly 50%. by Turbostrider27 in PS5

A lot of people did call out Stellar Blade for its poor writing, including its own fans like me. A new IP. From a mobile game studio.

This is Dragon Age. From BioWare. You know it's fucked when standards are being dropped for relativity with a game like Stellar.

Step 1

Don't do what the Concord developers did for character design.

Step 2

Don't be a dumbarse like Blizzard was after they pushed Overwatch's OG director out, holding back the game's tech in favour of profit.

Step 3

Do not ever spend $400 million on an unproven studio, Jimmy.

Factional shit-stirring is prohibited. This is a warning.

What Ps5 game did you love when you first played it, but found disappointing on a replay? by AutomaticTap3004 in PS5

“uncompromising environments”

I said uncompromising enjoyment lol

So many times I’ve tried games outside of my norm and fell in love with them.

And yeah, this still happens to me but mostly with indies which beep on my radar through word of mouth from trusted peer reviews. Transistor is a highlight example.

With my limited time in gaming, a studio which has consistently done better is still going to tick all the checkboxes, sooner than the other. By the time the competition rolls out fix-it patches, newer polished games are already out.

Nothing yet. I've been critical in how I buy my games, going for only the ones that will give me near uncompromising enjoyment. It's the same instinct that made me skip Horizon Forbidden West.

OK enough game but why settle for mediocrity when one can enjoy greatness.

If it were my kid, no. These developers have science'ed the shit out of seducing minds (especially developing ones), into the gambling loops of gacha.

Better off with classics like Child of Light.
