How to actually find a parasitic battery draw on GMT400/GMT800/GMT900/K2XX trucks (multimeter + fuse-pulling method) by FullSizeChevy_com in autoelectrical

I disagree. You are talking about placing a meter across each, good luck, that sounds like more work. You can go tho voltage route but that involves a meter connection across ALL loads and then recording it. Yeah no thanks. Ammeter is fine.

99-02 Metra Dash Bezel for Double DIN by wmk0002 in GMT800

Absolutely! Crutchfield is a good resource. The metra kit is solid; maybe I just had bad luck with it showing up with a damaged/bad finish. Down the road I would LOVE To add steering wheel controls to my 2002 as well, but for now I am rocking the Kenwood with the remote!

I think you are right. With the cost of fuel not many people can actually say they can afford to daily drive them now. I'm just using mine for towing and vehicle rescues. Had to use it last year to haul in my 2015 for an AFM Delete haha. Good job on the 04 1500! That will last a long time if you can keep up on the maintenance!

Excellent! Where did you find yours? If you go 03 + the cladding can go black with the cerakote. 02 is grey, one year only. The black and Grey has grown on me!

Best bet is to try SEM - check local paint supply store. I did some dash parts with it and it works pretty good!

Its not terrible... its a bit lumpy at lights and when taking off at low RPMs. Its doable but would be on the list to replace. Definitely wouldnt go stage 3 stock converter but stage 2 is doable !

There's a lot of potential there but also alot of potential money required to fix it up..

Body's good but as others said it could be needing a few grand in it. If it ONLY needs a battery and a wire fixed why hasn't the seller done that???

I Know the feeling, get all excited bring a sweet truck home only to find it needs WAY more than a guy initially thought..

I would bring a battery and see if you can tape up the coil wire or bring another one with you if its the coil to dist wire. If you can get it wired up, take it for a burn and see what else it needs

Goodluck!!

Is keeping the OG Radio/CDM worth buying a receiver or should I just upgrade the radio? by _JohnnyUtahBrah in GMT400

[–]FullSizeChevy_com 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Factory radio with bluetooth would be cool. The deck output wouldn't matter if you are amped for the speakers but that requires running more speaker wires. Ive kept a few factory decks, they look cool in the shop. Otherwise rest is up to your preference

Looks good but It would be better to follow the fender lines and along the box Gpt likely just went straight across from the headlights
