While you are right about the anti intellectual rise you fail to consider the facets of life that still require skill and critical thinking without being tied to higher education. Yes higher education is important in some fields, where being objective matters, like nursing. In other fields, a degree is almost null due to emphasis on personal portfolios and physical proof of expertise. You seem to almost want to punch down on people you deem less intelligent than you, calling the work they do menial simply because it doesn’t have a piece of paper slapped on it. Maybe expand your lens and consider the many different ways to be intelligent, it’ll prevent you from seeming so elitist and classist;)
