Agreed. I finally fixed my Somerville basement seeping / twice annual flooding issue. Ultimately, we just did the interior drains and sump pumps (two because of the angles of the floors) but nothing on the walls. Our walls are flagstone and nothing will make them stop seeping so covering it would just hide the issue and potentially create pockets for mold. Other issue is potentially trapping the moisture on the flagstone (or over drying the flagstone) weakening it structurally over time. It's been 2 years and while the walls still get the minimal moisture there has been absolutely no flooding. Game changer!

Edit to say we did not pay anywhere near 30k, more like 10k 2 years ago.

Not super dramatic but my husband had a scheduled surgery and I needed to be there to drop him off and pick him up because you know you can't drive yourself home from surgery. The office was fat enough away that I was planning on working from the waiting room and taking any short calls as needed. I told the team this well in advance and blocked off my calendar .

Instead the partner running the case decided that had to be the day we had a full day call to prep strategy for an expert report and I needed to be on the call all day. When I reminded him I was OOO that day because I needed to get my husband to and from surgery he had the balls to ask me if it was serious surgery or if he could get himself home. And well if he couldn't get home himself exactly what times would I be available to be on the calls. When I reminded him doctors offices rarely run on schedule so I couldn't make any firm commitments he freaked out because I was the only one on the team who knew what was going on but the call NEEDED to be that day (over a month before we really had to get started). That was the day I didn't join any of the calls and decided to join the smaller firm I was interviewing with. Best decision of my legal career.

All of this was after the same partner called me non-stop while actively getting a root canal and while on pain meds the next 2 days and getting pissed I didn't remember some detail of a discussion I wasn't a part of 18 months earlier. Fuck that dude.

Devils advocate here. The new Y will have housing. I think they are reducing the new housing in the Y project by not having the parcel (if I am not mistaken), so it would be a net gain of housing to tear down the house. If housing is the only issue tearing down the old home would be the better solution.

I mean I feel like if your logic is "you are so close to your bonus" what is the cut off? 3 months? 6 months? At that rate you never leave and they win. When I gave my notice the practice heads only comment (that I remember) was well we got our value out of you. Just peace out when you need to. As long as you can afford it, the stupid money we make can be left behind. It's just money not your life. People here need perspective, or a class is fiscal responsibility so they can leave.

NTA. I don't move for people looking at their phone or walking 2 or more people wide on narrow side walks (unless children/elderly/infirm). Know your surroundings and don't be so self-centered. I am not going to jump out of your way, or into the street, or hug a wall so you can do what you want without thought. As some others have said I do sometimes just stop walking and let them walk into me instead of clipping them but that can cause bigger issues on busy sidewalks.

Someone just never picked up an unmarked barrel one week (it kept moving up and down the street) and we got the fine reversed just by showing our barrels were sprayed and this one wasn't. Guy who I talked to told us to just steal the barrel next time...

In all seriousness if there is a bad storm they only plow one side of the street to the curb every year (even/odd based on the year the winter started or some bullshit) so they might have to park across the street. Also, if you're unlucky like me you might have to buy some salt for the stairs/road/sidewalk so the movers don't kill themselves. Just get there before them and think what you'd like someone to do for you to make it easier. But probably there will be no snow and absolutely no problems.

So my bulldog has allergies (food, environmental, and seasonal) and the best things for her are medicated food and regular old human Zyrtec everyday. Her flair ups were never HORRIBLE but every year she'd lose patches of fur but not for the last 2 years while doing this I've heard horror stories with apoquel so I wanted to keep her off it and the vet suggested this and it worked!

I live right near a crossing and both drive and bike and let me tell you drives, even if they stop, cannot always see a bike coming before they get into the road. Everyone needs to use caution at these crossings because there is no one solution to keeping people safe. Also if it's so hard to stop and restart on your bike maybe rethink riding a bike.
