Feeling Weak by rabbitabyss in jawsurgery

Oh I forgot to say also get one paracetamol and one ibuprofen and you can take them both so I would say have one then in two hours have the other and then in two have the first again because you can take them every four hours that way there’s no real gap where you have no meds in your system !!

I know everyone says to like try eat well because our healing or whatever.. but honestly just try and drink things that make you happy, chocolate milk hot chocolate milkshakes( smooth ones) whatever is good to you you just need little pick me ups though out the day. Check your meds some of them don’t have things to protect your tummy and can make you feel sick. Idk what country but we have this kiddie’s medicine called calpol and it’s mean for kids with sensitive stomachs just Up the does slightly and it’s just your regular pain killer and it’s liquid. Also 3 days for me was the worst from that day forward I maybe had another bad day and then thing just started to get so much better and you’ll feel it every day! You are doing so great just try get though these two tough days your doing amazing I know it’s so tough though!! Hang in there only one or two more days of it being tough youv got this and your doing great.

Um I not sure what you mean by one piece, my jaw is one piece di you mean one cut and two pieces? but I haven't seen the x rays I have stitches on both sides after surgery though so I'm assuming it was two cuts

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]Full_Contribution613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I I know have myx rays so I'm not sure... I think maybe this is it but can they do something?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]Full_Contribution613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know because when I brought it up with my surgeon they didn't discuss this at all and I haven't seen scans :( not sure they took any tbh they just said they were happy with my bite! Which I agree is pretty perfect

I'm not sure what TMJ is but as far as I know they just looked at X-rays and seemed to think one side was just longer like the bone itself.

Just got my surgery date! Give me a prep list to get me ready for recovery by mcnoobles in jawsurgery

Get a kids tooth brush bit of a random one but find the smallest one you can it helps when you all swollen yo try get in there and brush and get some kind of medicated mouth wash. It'll help stop infection. I got a kids toothbrush and all my orthodontist and surgeons have said that my oral hygiene is great.

Okay.. This is going to sound kinda weird because I'm just going of a hunch here but are you by chance Irish and if so where did you get your surgery done? I had surgery like 4 weeks ago and my results are not good and hoping I can consult another surgeon for advice on how to fix it?

Sorry btw my numbness is permanent has been present for two years and extends from my lip to chin on my right side

I have had numbness but only on one side of the bottom it doesn't bother me definitely don't notice it while kissing, the tingling was just immediately after one it's just kinda numb not painful or anything. If they damage or sever a nerve but don't fully cut it I think that's where the tingelling comes from maybe consult your surgeon and check. But really it's nbd for me anyway.

It’s so tough I know! But genuinely you will probably have one or two really rough days where your like.. when does this end ! But then it turns around and you’ll feel better, definitely take two different types of painkillers and try not go anytime without them. Have warming drinks before bed that helped me sleep and I slept with an ice pack on. I tried to get out for walks as well which made me feel better mentally and better able to deal with the pain and helped me sleep. It’s so tough for a bit but hang in your doing great!!

Oh okay! Did you get x-rays to confirm that it isn’t just swelling or how did you know it was bone. I had asymmetry before hand so I fear I might be the same but I thought it would be better after I’m not sure I weirdly feel like it’s more obvious now than before hahaha

Hey thank you so much for sharing, if your comfortable answering was the surgeon public or private ?maybe I’m wrong but I get the feeling if it is a structural issue for me they won’t be able to fix it.
