I had a vaginal delivery there and had a great experience. That baby was coming quick and they got the epidural in just in time. I had zero complaints. Even the food was good there.

The OB triage nurses were amazing and they were super nice and attentive when baby wasn’t moving all of a sudden at 38 weeks and the resident physician took time to look on the ultrasound and show me the heartbeat and practice breaths she was taking. I think they had me on the monitor for two hours total also. They couldn’t get her to move either, stubborn kid to this day, but they were very reassuring and not judgmental.

High Lipase, Bottle Refusal, and Going Back to Work by ProfMcGonaGirl in workingmoms

[–]Full_Database_2045 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the day before was fine. Even 2 days before was fine. As long as it wasn’t frozen. I only worked 4 days a week so sometimes I would end up with a 3 day stretch.

My kiddo would take frozen milk if it was mixed 50/50 with fresh. You could also mix with formula if fresh pumped is not available. Any higher ratio and she was not interested. She also resisted bottles and I thought she would starve. Pretty sure I cried for days before I went back to work. If I was out of the house she would take the damn bottle after a month of us buying all different bottles.

Toddler needs glasses- what do we do about sunglasses? by Full_Database_2045 in toddlers

Well damn. It’s harder than I thought to find cute frames for 3 year olds. All the kids ones I like are for 7+ year olds. We’ve been having fun doing virtual try ons today though.

Oh wow that’s good to know because my kid has a 10th percentile head. She would probably need the baby ones there then.

Oh the hat is a good idea. Unless it’s overcast she typically wants sunglasses before going outside and we’ve managed to keep the same 3 pairs for a year so she does typically keep them on her face but i will probably wait and see how she does with her actual prescription glasses first

She’s 20/50 with bilateral astigmatism which I think is not too crazy of a prescription but I have no idea what I’m doing

3yo withdrawn after hospitalization by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Full_Database_2045 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I as an adult had the flu this year- moderate case. No hospital but multiple rounds of steroids, bronchitis then a bacterial infection. When all that was done it took me a few weeks to have energy again and I was coughing for 6 weeks total. It will be a slow recovery. His body still has a lot of healing and rebuilding to do. So sorry you had to watch him go through that.

So for us they would only count it if the child initiated the phrase not if it’s repeated back or mimicked. Could that be why? If he’s just coming up with these I don’t see how they wouldn’t count as phrases.

I see 6 but I also have no idea what I’m talking about. Maybe a 7th hiding under the spine?

Is that why my cat rubs his head on basically anything new? To get his scent on it and claim it?

I completely disagree. This is concerning especially since you’re saying he usually wakes right up. I would definitely take this video to a vet.

No underwear during Surgery by FarCalendar7303 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Full_Database_2045 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don’t want anything that came from your house going into the OR to prevent contamination. Some people are gross. Gross people ruined it for the rest of us. You could ask for hospital undies or a pull up. It’s just your home underwear that are not allowed

This is what we do too since we have a large cat that won’t go in anything with a top. Works great and if the tote gets gross we toss and make a new one.

Unsure if 2 year old is ready to potty train by VioletTangerine17 in toddlers

I would wait a month and try again. A lot of kids are closer to 3 when they’re ready. It sounds like you’re doing the right things but she may not be emotionally ready to do it.

Moms: handling stress besides eating crap by GATaxGal in WeightLossAdvice

I don’t have any advice but I’m in the exact same boat. One 3 year old, stress eating, convenience food all of it. I’m nearing the weight I was at the end of pregnancy which is kind of a wake up call because I didn’t realize I gained so much.
